Registration Open for the December Coalition Meeting!

Please join us for the upcoming meeting on December 7th at 1pm (virtual)! With elections over and the General Assembly starting session in January, we want to review the legislative terrain of early childcare and education. For this meeting, we've invited a family member, provider, business leader and lobbyist to sit on a panel and discuss the current legislative priorities from the state and what that looks like from their perspectives. You will leave with tools and next steps on advocating in January and beyond. You don't have to be an expert in public policy to make a difference.

Why should you care about advocating for early childcare and education?

  1. Fiscal years 25' and 26' will see a significant decrease allocated to Mixed Delivery, Child Care Subsidy, and Virginia Preschool Initiative due to the loss of the Anerican Rescue Plan Act funds.
  2. 35,617 children in Virginia will lose care in Fiscal Year 25'.
  3. It is estimated that 37,398 working parents in Virginia will experience a childcare related job disruption.

Together, we can work to address the upcoming gap in childcare funding that will impact families, providers and businesses!
