Dear Chess Enthusiasts,

Our most popular outdoor tournament at Bryant Park is coming up on Sunday June 1st and it is still possible to get the early entry fee of $39 until midnight tonight!  After that it will be $45 until Friday at 7pm and $55 for the rest of the weekend including at the site the morning of the event.
 
Last year the event was amazing, as we had perfect weather...sunshine and 70 degrees.  It's not often you get to enjoy the outdoors and participate in a chess tournament at the same time!  The forecast for this Sunday is 72 degrees and sunny!
 
Plus, the event is centrally located in Midtown Manhattan at one of New York City's most well known parks.  The tournament will take place along side the Fountain Plaza and is sure to be a good time.
 
The Under 1800 section is offering 80% of entry fees returned as prizes and includes Adults as well.  This year it is 3 rounds at G/60.
 
The rest of the sections do not include adults and offer o
ur usual assortment of over 100 giant awards, plus our very popular Grandmaster Cup to be awarded to 1st and 2nd Place in every section (including Beginner).
  
Just to remind you, our Beginner section (K-1) is unrated by the US Chess Federation.  Any players participating in the Beginner section do not have to pay USCF dues and do not need to be a USCF member. 

All other sections will remain USCF rated as always.

Entry Fee: $39.00 if paid online (postmarked) by May 27, 2014
$45 thereafter, $55 at site.

  

USCF dues required for all tournament participants (except for Beginner Section)...$17/year without magazine, or $24/year & includes subscription to Chess Life for Kids magazine. Players 13 years old or older pay $6 extra for dues. Adults $48

  • TROPHIES TO TOP 15 IN BEGINNER, NOVICE AND ELEMENTARY SECTIONS.  TOP 10 IN ALL OTHERS
  • HIGH SCORER TROPHY TO ALL WHO SCORE 2 POINTS AND DO NOT WIN A PLACE TROPHY. ENGRAVED CHESS MEDAL WITH RED WHITE & BLUE NECK RIBBON TO ALL OTHERS.

 

TEAM PRIZES:

The top 4 scorers in the same section from each school make up that school's team score.

  • TROPHIES TO TOP 4 TEAMS IN BEGINNER, NOVICE and ELEMENTARY.  TOP 2 TEAMS IN OTHER SECTIONS.
