Early Intervention Assessment using the Developmental Assessment of Young Children – Second Edition (DAYC-2)

Course Description:

The Developmental Assessment of Young Children – Second Edition (DAYC-2) measures a child’s developmental level in the following domains: Cognition, Communication, Social-Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Adaptive Behavior. Each of the five domains reflects an area mandated in IDEA regarding assessment and intervention for young children. This workshop will provide an overview of assessment best practice, data integration practices, and formal review of the DAYC-2. The DAYC-2 review will include principles of use, psychometric properties, administration procedures, scoring, and interpretation guidance.

  •  State the relevance of the DAYC-2 for use in developmental assessment.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow DAYC-2 administration guidelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to properly score and interpret DAYC-2 results.
  • Describe how to utilize data from multiple sources (including DAYC-2) to conduct a thorough evaluation.

Speaker: 
Ann K. Rogers PhD, NCSP-
Ann K. Rogers has a PhD in School Psychology with specializations in Neuropsychology and Developmental Psychology.  She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.  Dr. Rogers has worked in the field of assessment for over 20 years, in various roles with test publishers, as a practitioner in schools and in private agencies, in neuroscience medical education program development, and as an adjunct university instructor for school psychology training programs.  Dr. Rogers is currently an Assessment Consultant with Western Psychological Services (WPS) the premier provider of resources for assessing Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Tuition will be refunded less a $5.00 processing fee, if written notification is received by New York Therapy Placement Services up to two weeks prior to the workshop. Two weeks to 48 hours prior to the workshop date 50%; 48 hours prior to workshop, no refund would be available.
