Checking Out Items


Summer is a busy time for all! Please remember, if your child is present at the library with an alternative caregiver make sure they have a library card with them in order to check out items. Staff are not able to look up an account if they are not the cardholder.

Register for summer reading (adults, kids, tweens, teens). This link will be available all summer long, register at any time.

Don't forget to come by the library for your reading log. If you're doing Read and Bead, pick out a chain and brag tag too!


Kids (Ages 0-12): Read and Bead. Earn beads all summer long! Every 15 minutes earns you a bead. Save up your time to get bigger and cooler beads. After registering please stop by the library - starting on June 9th - to pick up your reading log, brag tag, and chain to start your read and bead necklace. 


Tween (rising 4-6th graders): Choose your adventure: Read and Bead or a Tween Raffle. Earn beads by the minute or earn raffle tickets by the book! Put your tickets toward trying to win exciting prizes. 


Teens (rising 7-12th graders): Teen Raffle. Earn a raffle ticket for each book you read to try and win prizes.


Adults (Ages 19+): For every book read, please fill out a raffle ticket to enter to win a prize basket.


All prizes are sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 

Mini Art Show

Mini Art Show Canvas Pick Up

First day to pick up: Tuesday, July 1st

Pick up in the lobby anytime the library is open between 7/1 and 7/19

Drop off your finished canvas by July 30th


Register to be part of NPL's Mini Art Show! Use any medium to create a mini 4"x4" masterpiece that will be displayed at the library during the month of August. Open to all ages. Register everyone in your family who would like a canvas.

July's Theme: Books that take place on an island


A fun, themed book box for adults! Each box will have a themed book(s) and some goodies. You get to keep the goodies, but the books do need to be returned.


Boxes will be available for pick up the 2nd Tuesday of each month and you will have one week to pick up. You must have a valid SAILS library card to register. 

Puzzle Swap & Meet Ups


Evening sessions (5-7pm): 6/30, 7/21

Afternoon sessions (1:30 - 3:30pm): 7/10, 7/24


A casual meet up for puzzle enthusiasts to unwind, relax, and get out of the heat. Stop by and work on a puzzle, we will have some 300 piece puzzles available. There will also be a swap table. Bring a puzzle to swap out for a new one to work on at home.


Registration appreciated, but not required. Register through the event calendar.

Drawing Your World with Raúl The Third (PK-2nd Grade)

Looking for summer fun? Sign up now for special take & make kit that celebrates beach reads and being by the sea. Each take & make includes a paintable miniature boat (with oars!), paint, a paintbrush, a few book recommendations, and a surprise friend we think you'll find just ducky! Registration required.

Paws to Read For Summer Reading

Come to the library to register for Summer Reading and work on your reading skills with our therapy dog friends from Therapy Dogs United! Reading sessions will be drop in/first come first serve. Best for 2nd grade & up, but pre-K, K, & 1st graders are welcome to participate with a caregiver.
