Interclub: Five members attended the November 6th meeting with the Fort Myers  Club. Thank you Linda Parrish, Linda Petrik,  Cathy Smith, Barbara Hartman and Todd  Adams.

DCM: Five members attended the first DCM of the year on November  6th. Thanks Linda Parrish, Todd Adams, Lindsey Lenhart, Brianne Lenhart and Kim Berghs.  We heard from Lt. Governor Tina Pegler, speakers, had a nice Thanksgiving meal and did some individual club sharing.

From Harris Segel:
We are administering a volunteer online panel of television news viewers from all local stations to get ongoing feedback on matters affecting the local community regarding news coverage and programming. Members receive a very short (3-5 questions) online survey twice a month and respondents are entered for drawings for gift cards. In addition, they receive invitations to special television station events, access to television station executives and personalities and advanced notifications of major surveys.

If you would like to consider becoming a volunteer member of this panel, please complete and submit the application at

Oasis Reading/Mentoring (Stewart Ross) weekly at Orangewood  Elementary on Wednesdays  9:30am-10:10am. Please let Stewart know if you can help. Four volunteers are needed each week. Come make a difference! 

Atlas Delivery Volunteers needed. Next delivery is Heights Elementary on Weds. Nov. 13th at 9:45am. Todd will be delivering.  It would be nice to have 2-3 members to come and help hand them out to the kids.   Can you help?  Wear your club name tag and a Kiwanis shirt if you have one.  You'll need to bring a photo ID when you sign in at the office. Rayma Page Elementary delivery will be the week after, dates are being confirmed. 

MS Support Group(Bill Grant), meets 3rd Thursday of each month at St. Hilary Episcopal Church. 

Literacy Buddy  Calling all "buddies." You will be paired with a child (age 4-5). Three times a year you will get a letter from your child and a few notes from his/her teacher describing the type of book they would like to have. You purchase the book and it goes to your child.   Start by signing up:     In the section where it says preferred school write in Metro-McGregor Kiwanis Club. You should have received your first letter from your buddy. Books are due to the children; Nov 15th (first book), Jan 17th (second book) and April 17th, (third book). 

                                        SLP's (Service Leadership Programs) 
Aktion Club-(Karen Hurst) at LARC. Meets 2nd Tuesday at 8:30am, year-round. They are collecting bottle caps as well. Bring in clean/used T-shirts for Karen to take as they are making more dog toys. 

CKI Club- at FGCU. (Stewart Ross)  CKI Mentorship-

Key Club-(Harris Segel) Collegiate High on FSW campus. 

Builder's Club-(Barbara Hartman, Todd Adams, Ada Trapanese) Cypress Lake Middle. They club recently participated in Community Day at their school and Barbara shared some of their upcoming project ideas and fundraisers. 

K-Kids-(Kim Berghs) Littleton Elementary. Meetings are currently every Wednesday at 2:15pm. 
                             Today's Program: Literacy Buddies
Our speaker today was Tallie Tidwell from the Early Learning Coalition of SW FL. She provided us with statistics on literacy and why it's so important for children to stay on target 

Members that are literacy buddies shared some of their experiences with the program.
