1.)   Updated Department of Health Guidance to Prevent and Respond to COVID-19
The Washington State Department of Health has released their most recent update for the Guidance to Prevent and Respond to COVID-19. Please see link below and note in the middle of page 11 Section 3 Considerations for Child Care (Early Learning). Please let me know if you have any questions.

2.)   Kaymbu Online Screening and Assessment Tool
I have had conversations with multiple early learning programs in the last couple of years that are interested in an online Screening and Assessment Tool for their participants. We have connected with the Kaymbu platform, through Highscope to give you a potential option if your program is interested. The cost for this tool will be completely funded for your school by the Early Childhood Education fund started by Dick Abrams. It can be a great way to communicate with parents, use in PLC’s with the kindergarten teacher, prepare for conferences, ect. Please see below for the following to learn more:

A.     Watch/listen to this 37 minute overview of the program and how it works
Here is the recording link and passcode:

B.     Option to attend office hours to ask questions to Natalie about what you have seen:
Zoom meeting for Office Hours on Tues, Nov 1st at 4PM:

C.      Let Dave know if you are interested in using this tool at your program and we will get you started right away (again completely funded by the ECE Fund)

Thanks and please reach out to me with any questions! I am excited to see how this tool can be used!

On Tuesday, October 25th DCYF sent out the following message to those that email the address providerhelp@dcyf.wa.gov for any purpose>

Message: On Nov. 15, 2022, all Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) child care providers sending an email to providerhelp@dcyf.wa.gov will receive an automatic reply with a few steps to follow to ensure their emails and any documents or attachments are secure.

Once in the secure system, providers will always receive automatic replies letting them know the status of their email. The automatic replies will tell providers if their email was received or if there are any problems with the email or attachments.

4.)   Licensed Only: Message from DCYF: Implementation of a new Learning Management System
On Wednesday, October 26th DCYF sent out the following message about the implementation of a new Learning Management System that will replace DCYFtraining.com in early 2023.

Message: DCYF’s Professional Development team is excited to announce the implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS) coming in early 2023 for child care and early learning providers.
DCYF’s new LMS (which will be officially named later) will be a place for child care and early learning providers to find and complete all training online.

What Does This Mean?
·      The new LMS will replace DCYFtraining.com.
·      Child care and early learning providers will be able to find available training and complete online training on DCYF’s new LMS when it launches in early 2023.
·      Training organizations will be able to manage their State-Approved Trainers in the new LMS.
·      Trainers will access the new LMS to list training, track completions, manage rosters, and connect to their training organization. In addition, new trainers can become State-Approved Trainers through the new LMS
·      More info to come!

Have a great week!
