The William Jenks Guitar Ensemble class is off to a great start. In fact, the class will be going on tour to Hawaii this coming June! Join us now to improve your sight reading, music theory knowledge, guitar technique, performance skills, and most importantly enjoy making music with others. William Jenks who is a world-renowned classical guitarist and former university professor is sharing his knowledge, skills, and experience directly with you in the William Jenks Guitar Ensemble Class. All you need is a classical guitar to join. If you're interested but not sure if you're ready to play in the class, just contact us and we will discus it. It is possible you might need a few lessons but we will get you ready. It is also possible to join the class virtually or as an auditor.

Cost is $425 per term

The class will end with performances in the Portland area and a tour to Hawaii!

William Jenks has had over 25 years of teaching experience both privately and at the university level. Some of his students have gone on to become professional concert artists, teachers, and composers but many have just enjoyed studying the guitar as a hobby. With William Jenks, you will receive tailored lessons designed to enhance your skills and help you achieve your musical aspirations. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, our lessons will guide you every step of the way, ensuring you progress at your own pace while building a strong foundation in musicianship and classical guitar technique. Cost is $90 per hour with discounts for larger lesson packages.

The guitar series is definitely not gone for ever. We are just taking a break and William Jenks is on sabbatical from presenting concerts after doing it for 20 years. We plan on returning to our programming in a bigger and better way than ever. When I got the privilege to briefly study with the legendary John Williams back in 2010, I distinctly remember him saying, "The problem with guitar pedagogy today is there is too much focus on the solo guitar repertoire," Since then, I've focused a lot of my teaching on directing guitar ensembles. I have seen first hand the tremendous benefit of students taking this class in addition to private lessons.
