San Antonio City Charter Amendments

The San Antonio Apartment Association supports all six proposed city charter amendments.


Proposition A

Proposition A will enhance the city’s code of ethics by addressing key areas that impact effectiveness and transparency of the ethics review board.


Proposition B

Proposition B will modernize the charter, making it legally sound, understandable and more efficient for city operations, without introducing any major changes


Proposition C

Proposition C empowers the City Council to set the city manager’s employment, including salary and tenure.


Proposition D

Proposition D will make city employees’ participation in local politics airer, ensure senior officials remain neutral in municipal elections and increase civic engagement.


Proposition E

Proposition E will increase transparency and attract top talent by establishing fixed salaries for City Council members and a clear adjustment formula.


Proposition F

Proposition F will extend the terms for City Council members and the mayor to enhance stability, governance and alignment with peer cities, while maintaining the existing eight-year term limits.
