We'd like to thank everyone who helped us make our Panera fundraiser a success! So many of our staff, family, and friends ordered Panera to help us feed local seniors through our Meals on Wheels program. We are so grateful for your support! We truly couldn't do it without you.
Nature's Bounty of Wellness Initiative Launches
Laura Zelenka-Dufresne, Registered Dietitian, kick started the “Nature’s Bounty of Wellness” program to senior staff at our recent Directors' Meeting. The program offers practical, easily applied tips on how staff and their clients can make healthy choices part of their everyday life. Thank you to The Nature's Bounty Co. for funding this new program and helping us promote best practices for health and wellness!
Local Professionals Speak with Alternatives for Youth
Participants in our Alternatives for Youth (AFY) program listened to speakers Daniel Lloyd from Long Island Citizens for Community Values and Andrew Ayodeji from Minority Millennials and Bolden Mack Basketball, who spoke about social entrepreneurship and digital dependency. The youth discussed the dangers of using their cell phones obsessively and to instead use their minds to pursue their dreams.
