The Shorthorn 2024 Early Voting Guide

Hello, Mavericks!


With early voting starting Monday, The Shorthorn curated a voting guide to prepare you before heading to the polls.


Whether you’re a first-time or an experienced voter, we have provide multiple resources to help you to vote, such as when and where you can vote on campus, which locations are open for early voting in Tarrant County, what issues are important and who is on the ballot.


Now, let's get to the resources.

The Shorthorn counted down the days to the election, breaking down the what, where, why and how of early voting.

What to bring: Voters must provide one of seven acceptable forms of photo ID


Where to go: 51 early polling sites are available across Tarrant County, with seven in Arlington


Voting by mail: Citizens must request an application from their early voting clerk and submit it before Oct. 25

How to vote: With four stations when casting your vote, this guide helps you navigate the polls

the maverick activities center

Arlington has seven early polling sites including the Maverick Activities Center available for students, faculty and staff over the next two weeks.

Dates and hours:

  • Oct. 21 to 25: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Oct. 26: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Oct. 27: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Oct. 28 to Nov. 1: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


Designated voter parking:

  • Lot 34: Spaces reserved for voter parking
  • Lot F8: ADA-designated voter spaces available

​​Earlier this month, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved the MAC as an early polling site.

  • Mavericks made their voices heard when the court stood divided on having an early polling site at UTA. After nearly four hours and dozens of speakers, a list of 51 early polling locations were approved 4-1.
