The Nature Center will be CLOSED for maintenance from Monday April 15th- Sunday April 21st.

Programs will continue as scheduled and will be relocated to the Spicer House (unless otherwise noted).

Please continue to visit and enjoy Heritage Park during that week, as the park and trails will still be accessible from sunrise to sunset.

Rouge Rescue
Join us at Heritage Park for the annual Rouge Rescue Volunteer
stewardship event hosted by the Farmington Hills Nature Center
and the Friends of the Rouge. Work with other volunteers on a
variety of projects aimed at protecting our part of the Rouge River and its watershed. All Welcome!

Activities include removing invasive plant species, planting native
plants, trash & debris removal and trail maintenance.
Please dress for the weather and for working outdoors.
Equipment will be provided. The first 50 volunteers will receive a
Rouge Rescue t-shirt, and a free lunch will be provided for all!

Meet at the Nature Center 
Earth Day
Join us for our annual celebration of Earth Day!  This FREE family-fun event is filled with activities, live music, face painting, earth-friendly crafts and great informational booths.  There will also be local food trucks to purchase food, and low cost hayrides!

Fun and free for the whole family! 
Woodcock Walk 
Experience the magic and excitement of the Woodcock bird's unique mating dance!  Take a guided hike to their breeding grounds where we will listen and search for these elusive birds!

Ages: 5+    Fee: $3/person 
Junior Naturalists Club 
Enrich your child's natural curiosity and encourage outdoor exploration.  
Discover new topics each month and earn a key chain badge for completing this nature program. After earning three badges, get a prize!  Register here!

Fee: $8/child (drop-ins welcome $10/child)  
Wellness Walk and Talk 
A FREE health inspired program with Beaumont Health. Health care professionals provide brief indoor presentations on topics of interest, then answer questions and engage in informal conversation with attendees on a 30 minute "wellness walk" through the Heritage Park trails.

No need to register, just show up!

Thurs April 18  Noon-1pm  Ages: Adult  
Scout Saturdays 
Complete badge requirements with the help of a naturalist!  Each session is filled with interactive activities.

Design, create and make using nature as inspiration to solve real-world challenges. 

This program is perfect for your young scientists and engineers to dream, plan, invent and test!

Birding Basics 
Experience the wonder of spring migration as birds return to Heritage Park.  Get the basics of birding from the tools you 'll need to tips on how to find interesting birds.  Be sure to dress for the outdoors!
