Incorporate environmental education and sustainability into your classroom using some of the great in-class activities below.


Incorporate conservation education into your classroom and get students engaged in service projects. Use our  Green Classroom Certification program as a launching pad to integrate water conservation, waste prevention, or energy efficiency into your curriculum.   Use our online registration or email the Green Classroom Coordinator at [email protected] today; our spring openings are rapidly filling up.



Create a video with your students for the  Washington Green Schools Video Contest: Building Green CommunitiesEducate and inspire others by explaining how kids can lead the way in cultivating a sustainable future in your community.  Washington Green Schools are  providers of statewide programs to make schools and communities greener and healthier. The deadline to submit videos is June 1st.

Bring your family to Sustainable Connections' Earth Day Celebration and have fun while learning about saving energy and our Earth. Dance to bluegrass music, enjoy local food and beer (or rootbeer), and learn more about the Bellingham Energy Prize. Read more.

Join the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association for their annual Earth Day work party
. Volunteers will have the opportunity to plant native trees and shrubs along the stream bank, participate in a raffle, and receive a FREE NSEA Earth Day t-shirt . All ages are welcome . Equipment and light refreshments provided by NSEA. Read more.
