CHURCHES IN RESCUE EFFORTS

Pastor Rey Edwards has worked in Venezuela many years with good Baptist churches. He has agreed to represent ORH and work through the churches he has helped over the years. Below is a communication from two pastors to Brother Rey about details of the ORH efforts through their churches.

PASTOR ANTONIO DIAZ

In Catia La Mar, La Guaira State, we have Brother Jiménez and part of his family, who are members of our congregation. Many of their relatives lost everything, since they lived in the area where the residential buildings collapsed following the earthquake.

Also in Caracas, in Petare, La Urbina sector, my son Antonio is there together with a group of motorcycle volunteers delivering breakfast, clothing, and humanitarian aid to residents affected in the areas of Chacao and Palo Grande. In addition, they are extending these efforts to La Guaira to bring supplies and support to those who have been impacted.

We thank God for every person who is serving with love and sacrifice during this time of great need.

We continue praying for protection, strength, and resources so we may

continue being a blessing to the affected families.

"Pastor Reynaldo and Church, We would like to share our work plan to help the people affected by the earthquake here in Venezuela.

We are located in Miranda State, about 40 minutes from Caracas. We have a team of men and women, along with two vehicles that allow us to reach affected areas and deliver medications, drinking water, food, and personal hygiene supplies.

The hospital in our municipality is serving as a pilot hospital and is receiving injured people who are being rescued from the rubble.

One of our plans is to travel to a community called El Junquito, which has been heavily affected and has received little assistance.

From Venezuela, Pastor Avilio Ascanio and Mendoza Baptist Church are grateful to God for allowing us to partner with you as one team and together serve our Venezuelan brothers and sisters who are going through this difficult time.

There is so much to be done to carry out

ministry to the people, churches, and groups. ORH has sent $3000 to the churches for food and other needed supplies. A church in Raleigh, NC has already promised money to support these hard-working churches. In our next issue we will give full information on a church which has been badly damaged and asked for help through ORH.
