The 3-Year Plan Deadline is a Few Months Away - These Resources Can Ease Your Stress
In approximately three months, the California Adult Education Program (CAEP) three-year plans are due! But don't worry – whether you have started your plan or not, there are some great resources available to help you every step of the way.

Tap into these resources for a smooth planning process:

Want to Get the Best Out of Your Students? Register for This Institute and Learn How
The CAEP TAP invites administrators and instructors to participate in the  Lesson Study Institute in the Central Valley. The Lesson Study Institute, presented by Jacques LaCour, an AIR subject-matter expert, is a powerful research-based collaborative professional development approach to getting the best out of students by giving teachers the support they need to do better work together and achieve more than any one teacher could alone.

For this free institute, up to 40 participants will come as teams. A team can be from a school, consortium or a couple of schools within a consortium.

The Lesson Study Institute will consist of the following:

• One, 75-minute pre-training (prerequisite) webinar on March 12 at 3:30 p.m.

• One full-day, in-person training on March 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The in-person training will take place at Clovis Community College-Herndon Campus, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a one-hour lunch between 12 p.m. and 1p.m. Lunch is provided by the State Center Consortium. The campus address is included in  this flyer .

Space is limited so be sure to register today!

Get Clear About Your Data Challenges Using the WIOA II Data Flow Workbook
This workbook will help you through the process of creating a graphical flowchart to document and communicate your needs and challenges for obtaining and using data.

The workbook includes information about creating flowcharts and an accompanying data-management workbook to guide you through a detailed look at the data you collect and manage. It uses a general model of the data-collection process, from intake through student exit, to help you understand data flow in your state or adult education program.

Upskilling Adult Learners With Disabilities
This National Skills Coalition brief outlines "how closer collaboration among adult education, workforce development, and vocational rehabilitation partners can advance effective practices and programs for workers with foundational skill needs and disabilities."

The brief provides a case study of one such approach, and state and federal policy recommendations for strengthening alignment between these systems and replicating this approach in other communities.
View the agenda packet for the Immigrant Integration Workgroup
The CAEP Immigrant Integration Workgroup held its first meeting last week.

The workgroup consists of a diverse and representative group with impressive expertise and insight into adult education's role in supporting immigrant integration. In carrying out the requirements of California Assembly Bill 2098, this group will develop recommendations for a set of immigrant integration measures that consortia may use to document adult education's contributions to this important population, and by extension their families,
communities and the state as a whole.
