Economic Development News from the East Bay | July 2021

We are pleased to announce the 2021 East Bay Innovation Awards Finalists. More than 200 East Bay companies and organizations were nominated for the Innovation Awards this year, showcasing the best examples of innovation in product development, services and processes. This robust list was reviewed by subject matter experts and narrowed down to twenty (20) finalists in ten (10) competitive categories.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is the winner of the 2021 Legacy Award. Finalists in the competitive categories are listed in alphabetical order:

Nominees from across Alameda and Contra Costa Counties will be highlighted during the virtual awards ceremony on October 14, 2021 and Awardees will be revealed that evening. The virtual awards ceremony will be hosted by Scott McGrew of NBC Bay Area and feature entertainment from local artists and raffles prizes. Read the full press release.

Early registration is now open for East Bay EDA’s virtual Fall Membership Meeting on Thursday, September 23 at 9:00 am. Join us in taking the clean air pledge for the 4th Annual California Clean Air Day. The pledge is a commitment by individuals and organizations to help clear the air in their community. There is no cost and every organization who signs up gets listed on the website. As food businesses in Alameda County are reopening and rebuilding their operations, they no longer need to rely on disposable cups, plates, utensils and other food service items to keep customers and staff safe.
