East Bay EDA was excited to work with a team of local officials from the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco to host members of a Mexican trade mission, including representatives of state governments, municipal authorities, mayors and business leaders on a tour of Laney College’s highly-acclaimed Machine Technology and other training programs. We are very excited to welcome two new East Bay EDA staff members, Patience Ofodu and Jaclyn Funasaki! Patience joins us from her recent role as the Business Services Manager at the Workforce Development Board of Contra County. Jaclyn comes to us from the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, working most recently as their Partnerships and Community Manager. 

Oakland International Airport (OAK) has just announced two new nonstop flights on Spirit and Southwest Airlines. Spirit Airlines announced new daily nonstop service between OAK and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (DFW) beginning May 5. Southwest Airlines will once again fly nonstop between OAK and Baltimore, Maryland (BWI) beginning September 5. Flights will operate daily. Fly OAK today!
