Boys Soccer

The Boys Soccer team has shown significant improvement from last year as they close out the first half of the season with a record of 5-3-3. This secures them a spot in the Class S State Tournament! However, they are not done yet and are looking to make noise as an unexpected contender for the rest of the season, carrying into the State Tournament.

Captains: Matt Martello & Alex Wierbicki

Highlighted Athletes:
Matt Martello has led the charge for the Boys especially when it comes to scoring, Alex Wierbicki also acting as an offensive threat for the Eagles. On defense, Chris Conley, Nick Wierbicki, and Maher Abunasra, have all played solidly. Finally, the Squad is rounded off with Logan Ledoux between the posts making several great saves.

Girls Soccer

The Girls Soccer team has been nothing but dominate. Going 8-0 in the first half of the season. Outscoring opponents 38-1 in those eight games! The Girls will certainly be a force in the Class L State Tournament, being a strong contender for a State Title!

Captains: Anya Tansil, Catherine Carmon, Tara Button, Anna Button

Highlighted Athletes:

The Girls Team is very well rounded with all 11 girls on the field playing extremely well together. On the attack, Anya Tansil leads the team in goals. Lauren Nyberg, while also a scoring threat, has assisted many of the goals this year. Meadow Kinney has been excellent in the midfield, while Tara Button, Sienna Smith, Elizabeth Carmon, Brooke Bolduc, and Aleksa Zajac have been holding the back line strong. Overall, everyone has been crucial in the team's success!

Boys & Girls Cross Country

Boys & Girls Cross Country have had a great turnout of athletes this fall with 37 total runners! The team as a whole has worked really hard to keep lowering their times and be competitive in our meets. At the Harry Geraghty Invitational both the Girls and Boys placed 1st among the Small Schools! The team has a big meet coming up with the Wickham Park Invitational on October 11. With CCC's and States meets to follow later in the month.

Captains: Renee Carras, Lucy DeCorleto, Michael Jensen, Carson Bedard

Highlighted Athletes:

Michael Jensen has been consistently one of the Top Finishers for the boys, while Riley Larkin has been The Top Finisher for the girls at every meet this season so far. All four of the captains have been great in preparing and leading the team to success. They are the ones leading stretching, warmups, and runs, fostering great comradery among the team!

Field Hockey

The Field Hockey team is thriving with a large roster being able to support a JV Program, a promising milestone for the future of the team! The girls have a good team culture while also enjoying the game and time with each other.

Captains: Molly Melia, Kasey Pierz

Highlighted Athletes:

As captains Kasey and Molly are the foundations for the supportive nature of the team. Leading by example every day, they are great role models for the underclassman. Freshman Maci Mori and Gabby Mastrangelo scored their first Varsity goals! Macy against Somers and Gabby against E.O. Smith! The Girls are coming of a strong 1-0 Victory over Enfield!

Football

The Football Squad is looking to use last week's win against Tolland as momentum for the rest of the season. The Squad has a difficult schedule; however, they have all the tools to overcome the adversity and make a strong case as a championship contender. With the bye week coming up, it gives the boys a

good time to rest and comeback stronger for the reminder of the season!

Captains: Joey Montalvo, Theo Perkins, Jared Macaluso

Highlighted Athletes:

Joey Montalvo has been invaluable for his first three years of his career, nothing has changed... In the second game of the season Joey crossed over the 3,000 receiving yard mark, joining a small list of only 5 players in CT High School Football History, right now he is 4th on that list, roughly 600 yards away from claiming the top spot! Fellow senior Theo Perkins has also been impactful being a force on both the Offensive and Defensive Line. Freshman Parker Barnes showing great promise on Defense making double digit tackles as well as getting a Pick Six in the win over Tolland!

Volleyball

Volleyball is having a great year! Just past the halfway point and they are sitting at 8-4, earning them a spot in the Class S Tournament! The girls are also in contention to compete in the CCC tournament as well.

Captains: Delaney Poach, Meghan St. Hilaire, Samantha Paolino

Highlighted Athletes:

The Volleyball Squad has benefited from multiple athletes' excellent play. Senior Aaliyah Austin-Christopher leading the team in kills with 55 and 31 Blocks. The Senior Libero,

Meghan St. Hilaire, coming up with 88 Digs, as well as serving for 51 Aces! Delaney Poach, at the Setter position, doing her job well with 181 Assist!

Cheer

The Cheer squad has been very energetic at multiple events. At our Football games they not only cheer on our boys but also help get the fans in the stand to be loud and full of energy! The team also performed a dance at the pep rally helping bring school spirt to the day!

Captains: Sophia Zimmerman, Kaylah Rodriguez, Taegan Rainha

Highlighted Athletes:

The three captains have taken their star in stride, working hard to bring the team together and create a culture that feeds off the support of one another. Their dedication to their craft and team is evident by each of the captains taking the time in the summer to go to camp and continue their development and skills to be the better leaders they are this fall!

Girls Swimming & Diving

Girls Swimming has been going strong this season being competitive in all of their meets. In their last Meet they caped off a 98-85 victory over E.O. Smith. The girls have a few more meets before the CCC Meet and State Meet to follow.

Captains: Harper Blackstone, Bailey Kimball

Highlighted Athletes:

Senior captains Harper and Bailey have stepped up as leaders for the team. Not only are they successful in their events, but they also have taken great pride in the duties of being a captain.

Every day they show up and give 100% effort while also pushing and cheering on their teammates to be the best versions of themselves!
