Construction Update for East Flamingo Avenue & Gage Lane residents

Construction is on schedule for the new alignment of East Flamingo Avenue. Utility work will be completed this month. Here's what to expect over the next several weeks.

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 13, crews will

  • Haul in and place topsoil on the south side of East Flamingo Avenue to promote growth of new vegetation in the spring.
  • Lay down subgrade and base layers to support the new road surface.

Once these activities are complete, crews will begin asphalt paving. ITD expects paving on East Flamingo Avenue to conclude in December.

What to expect on E. Flamingo Ave.:

  • Increased truck traffic as materials are hauled in.
  • Occasional rerouting of traffic. The primary detour will not change, but there may be days when traffic is routed west to Robinson Road instead of east to McDermott Road.

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during construction.
