Sermons for Sunday, "In The Dark Near The Door" and "Joy Comes Through 'Mourning!' by Pastor Max and Minister Jennifer Jenkins at 8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively. How do you dig out of a pit of spiritual and emotional heartbreak?  How do you cope with not realizing the promise and vision God gave you?  When you are in a dark place due to a disruption of promise, purpose, provision, and passion embodied in another, how do you find the power to start living again?  Pastor Max and Minister Jennifer will unpack Psalm 30:5 and Job 30:20-26 along with the riveting book "Surviving Spiritual Heartbreak" by Minister Jennifer Jenkins.

Book launch and signing after both services! (8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.) -- Dialogue and Q/A in Vaden Hall after 11:00 a.m. service.  Get E-books and other resources at www.jenniferajenkins.com

Why Small Groups:

Small Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren't always easy to find. That's why small groups exist - to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you!

Saturday, August 29
Our Community
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

East Friendship's  SERVE  Day will take place on August 29, 2015.   SERVE  Day is an opportunity to bless others and be blessed.  East Friendship lives up to its motto "A Community Church, Making a World of Difference" so going out to  SERVE  is something that we already do!  The expectation is to have the entire Church get involved along with members of the community.  We would also like to invite other neighborhood churches to partner with us.

August 29, was chosen as our  SERVE  Day because it falls on the 5th Saturday before the Worship Without Walls Sunday, which is always held on the 5th Sunday.  We had three tent services in the last three years and each time the experience have grown progressively better.  So we expect the SERVE  weekend to be even greater. Remember, the most important part of  SERVE Day is loving people and helping them move one step toward God.

East Friendship is a part of the  GROW  Community.  Grow is a resource partnership, training process and support system with the Church of the Highlands. The Church of the Highlands is located in Birmingham, Alabama under the leadership of Chris Hodge and has over 700 hundred partner churches.  Their aspiration is to supply our church with everything we need to succeed and meet our goals as a leaders and as a church.  There is so much to do in our community, the project ideas are limitless.

WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU! On this Sunday, you will learn and hear more about this great opportunity, so come ready to  SERVE !
Season III - 21 Days Prayer and Fasting - War Room
Sunday, August 30 - Afternoon at the Movies
September 1 - 21, 2015 - Season III

On August 28, the movie  War Room will be released into the theaters but on August 30, the East Friendship Baptist church family will partner with other churches in our area to view the movie together at the Regal Theaters in Hyattsville, Maryland.  To enjoy the trailer, please click here: WAR ROOM.  More information to follow.
