A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Maine East Families,

Parent Advisory Meeting - Please Join Us!

Please save the date for an exciting event coming up on Monday evening, September 25th at 6:00 p.m.: Our 1st Multilingual Parent Advisory Council Meeting. ALL parents/caregivers are welcome to attend. This meeting will be an informational session about the role of our Parent Advisory Council and the meaningful work this group can engage in. The goal of the Multilingual Parent Advisory Council (M-PAC) is to advocate programs that serve multilingual learners, to help make decisions to ensure the school meets the academic, linguistic, and cultural needs of students, and to actively participate in parent leadership workshops that advance multiliteracy. We would greatly appreciate your support by attending this meeting and learning about how you can get involved!

On October 5th and October 6th Juniors will take the digital PSAT/NMSQT. This will allow 11th graders a chance to become more familiar with the digital testing format before taking the digital SAT in April. Juniors will receive an email with the date and room location of their exam. Juniors will be excused from classes on the day they are testing and most students will complete the exam in under 3 hours. Juniors should be in their testing locations by 8:15 a.m. 9th, 10th and 12th graders will follow a half day schedule starting at 8:30 a.m.

October 5th and October 6th are half days for students with a release time of 12:07 p.m. PACE buses have also adjusted their pick-up times.

On October 6th, ALL school offices will be closed at 12:30 p.m. for staff workshops and training.
