"We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.”
An Easter Message from Mr. G
April 10, 2020
Dear St. Rose School Families,
I hope and pray that you are all healthy and finding peaceful ways to walk with Jesus during Holy Week. It is difficult to be apart from family and friends at a time when we usually come together to share the epitome of our Catholic faith. God, in His infinite wisdom, is calling us to stay put this year and maybe by doing so we can delve more deeply into the mystery of his death and Resurrection. I know we will be together in prayer and many will join Monsignor and Father Alphonse for Mass virtually. In these ways we are together and will help each other carry on.
I am sure that being the amazing parents you are, you will make Easter Sunday festive for your children. I hope there will be egg hunts and jelly beans, a special meal, family games and other touches that bring your family joy.
There are many in our school and parish community who are on the front lines fighting this virus. Please accept my deepest thanks -- to you and your families -- for your bravery and sacrifice. Our prayers are with you and all who are suffering every day; may God keep you safe and bring healing to all.
While the pace slowed down a bit this week, the teachers continue to work on lesson plans and activities that keep your children engaged and on track with their curriculum. I am very pleased with the reports from IXL that show a significant increase in student engagement. I am so proud of the work both the teachers and students are doing. This is a work in progress and because of the partnership between parents and faculty it is working well. I'm honored to be a part of this team and school family.
I hope you will be able to take some breaths and relax over the next week. It's important for everyone to step away from the computer and books for a while so we can recharge our batteries.
Typically we have an Open House in April; given our new circumstances we have created a Virtual Tour that can be accessed via our website, www.stroseschool.com/. We are also hosting a Virtual Open House on Sunday April 26th at
10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please share the news about our wonderful school and encourage your friends/family to visit that day. We are planning for a bright future.
I would like to invite you to join Mrs. B, myself, Mrs. Chomiak and many St. Rose School families and faculty for a drive by "Hello" to Monsignor on Easter Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Mrs. Chomiak and Mrs. B have planned all the details which you can find in Mrs. B's Student Life update. This is in no way mandatory, we just want to give everyone the option to get together -- at a distance -- and spread some cheer.
Now it's time to sign off with heartfelt wishes for a joyous, blessed Easter. May Jesus' Resurrection bring you HOPE!
Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka
STUDENT LIFE UPDATE
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3
Dear St. Rose Families,
My prayers for continued safety, health, and peace are being sent your way. One week of Spring Break has seemed to go by quickly; or maybe it just seemed that way! The teachers were so happy to check-in with the children during the week. It was truly times of smiles and laughter as the children shared their stories about their adventures; we heard about bike rides, hikes, planting gardens, family sports, board games, photography, drawing, journaling, and adopting of puppies; we saw that while it wasn’t a typical Spring Break week, they used their creativity to make the simplest things fun! The faculty and staff are deeply touched by the beautiful messages, drawings and emails you have been sending. You are such a blessing to us and your encouragement during these unprecedented times means the world. Know that we are committed to each and every one of you each and every day.
