To seek God, and be Christ’s body in the world
Preparing for Sunday

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

REFLECT: Step into the scene of today's scripture, see Jesus with his closest friends as he breaks the news to them that He has only hours to live. See their shock and bewilderment and their anticipatory grief. He tries to console them stressing that the loss of His physical presence is not the end of life but that He will still be with them in a different form.

We continue, throughout our lives, to ask and ask again the basic questions of "Am I on the right track in life?" and "How can I know God in my life?" The answer Jesus gives is both simple and profound: "I am the Way." We grow into the answer as we live out the months and years of our lives, first wading in it and then swimming. Every time we return to these basic questions, it can be with deepened faith since the last time we asked them.

PRAY: Dear Jesus, I invite you into my heart now. In the quiet, let me hear you speak those comforting words, "I AM the Way." May I find in them your offer of encouragement, kindness, and consolation. Let all my troubles be put aside for you to be my true guide in a life that is full of patience, tolerance, and appreciation. I trust in your promises that troubles can be lifted from my heart opening the way to a blessed future living in your love. Amen.

Recognition Sunday
Calling All Graduates!

Toward the end of each school year we recognize and congratulate our graduates from high school and college. COVID-19 has changed graduation ceremonies this spring so being able to learn about the graduates and their future plans is more important than ever in our faith communities. Please let Deb Parker know if you have a graduate in your household, or know of someone graduating, so we can acknowledge and bless them as they pursue their future plans.

Christian Formation Continues

Every Friday a group comes together, virtually, from multiple Episcopal churches in the area. We look more deeply at the Bible's book of Romans. Alan Lindsay leads the discussion, and Deb Parker is the Zoom administrator. The study begins at 8:30 AM and runs for one hour. If you would like to add this to your own Easter Season practices, please email Deb Parker for the Zoom instructions.
