2 April 2021
Greetings!

Peace and Greetings to you!

Taking a moment as we take a look back to last Sunday, where we experienced Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, and where the crowds were shouting “Hosanna! Hosanna in the Highest!” we come to this evening, where we will hear the crowds yell “Crucify Him!”

I extend a very special invite for you to join us TONIGHT, even though virtually, where we will hear and experience the Seven Last Words of Christ, as we once again join forces with our siblings from Christ Church United Church of Christ for our GOOD FRIDAY Service, starting at 7PM on Facebook and YouTube.

As we’ve looked back over this last year, of the things that became resonant to us living in a world of weariness and uncertainness, we also discovered that we can sometimes skew how we view the world. We were also reminded that God will NEVER leave us there. As we gather this Easter Sunday, we will be reminded how Jesus was undefeated through his ministry, but how it was just the beginning of the good news to come into our lives.

Make sure to join me this Sunday for Easter Worship ONLINE starting at 11:00AM, by connecting with us through our YouTube or Facebook links.

A reminder to those who are regular attending members of Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church, that you can still turn in your Lenten Giving. While we would normally dedicate Easter Flowers for in-person Easter Worship, I invite you in lieu of your flower dedication, to pray and make that an additional gift this year with an Easter contribution. You can send your Special Easter Giving in the envelope that was provided in this special mailing, or by directly clicking on: GIVING, making sure you indicate in the comment section “Easter Giving."

Don't forget to join us this next week, starting on Tuesday, as our POZ Spirit Group will have their monthly gathering on Zoom, that Theology-on-Tap will meet on Thursday at 6:30pm, following by our monthly Virtual Fellowship, that will happen one week from this Sunday on April 11th following worship starting at 12 noon. Details on how to connect to each of these gatherings can be found below.

As always, I invite you to take a moment to scroll down for other important announcements and events in the life of our congregation and community, as we continue to be the vibrant, inclusive and progressive community of faith that we are.

Please know that YOU are each in the prayers of not only me, but our entire board of directors, in these difficult and unpredictable times in our lives. Blessing and Good Health to you! I look forward to being able to see each of you in-person in the very near future!

CHRIST IS RISEN! CHRIST IS RISEN INDEED!

Blessing to you!
Rev. Tory
Scripture: Mark 16:1–8 (The Inclusive Bible)

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent off two of the disciples with this instruction: “Go to the village straight ahead of you, and as soon as you enter it you will find tethered there a colt
on which no one has ridden. Untie it and bring it back. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing that?’ say, ‘The Rabbi needs it, but will send it back very soon.’” So they
went off, and finding a colt tethered out on the street near a gate, they untied it.
Some of the bystanders said to them, “What do you mean by untying the colt?” They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them take it. They brought
the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks across its back, and he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread leafy branches which they had
cut from the fields. And everyone around Jesus, in front or in back of him, cried out, “Hosanna!” Blessed is the One who comes in the name of our God! Blessed is the
coming reign of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest! Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple precincts. He inspected everything there, but since it was already late in the afternoon, he went out to Bethany accompanied by the Twelve.

If you auto-give, through your financial institution, or already give online, we THANK YOU. But, if you have typically placed your gifts in the offering plate each Sunday, we ask that you please consider the options we have available for giving to the church, until we are able to be back in-person again.
