AYC Members,
I’m happy to announce that we are going to reopen the Club this coming Sunday for Easter brunch from 10:30am to 2pm.
We will be continuing to comply with COVID restrictions, and offering a contactless Easter Buffet. Inside seating will be at 50% of capacity, and a maximum party of 8 people per reservation.
And to be clear, while I hope you will find that the foyer and dining room renovations have turned out great, there are still lots of additional details, wall hangings and furnishing (as well as some major work which remains to be completed on the main bar) which will continue to come together before Flag Raising and the official start of the season.
So while this will be a “soft” re-opening of sorts, I know many of you are anxious to get back to the Club and I thought it was important to get the Club reopened. I appreciate the hard work, flexibility and creative thinking shown by Brian, Jarrod, Peter and the rest of the staff on getting the Club up and running again for what I have always viewed as an important milestone. I also appreciate the hard work of PC Gerry Cullen and the building & grounds/contractor team on getting the renovations to the point that it is safe to start to use a renovated Club that I hope everyone will be proud of. But I also thank everyone in advance for their patience as the staff is getting back up and running with operations as we complete final details of construction.
It looks like the weather for this weekend is shaping up to be great. I hope to see you Sunday at the Club. As always, I am available at commodore@avalonyachtclub.com.
Thankfully,
Eric Schiela
