“Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” Matthew 28:5-6

DR. JIM EVERETTE
I don’t think I have ever not gone to church on Easter. Even on the Easter that fell on Daylight Savings Time. I forgot to set my clock forward on the night before so I was late for the Sunrise Service, but I still went to church. Things are certainly different this year. Not being able to go to our church sanctuary on Easter does not stop Easter from coming to us. It also does not prevent us from gathering as God's Church to shout, Jesus is risen in all His glory.

Jesus being alive infuses new life into all of creation. Look for new life all around you. Roll back the hard places in your life where you have locked Jesus out. Offer your best to God today as you worship the risen Savior. Hallelujah! He is risen! He is risen, indeed!  -Jim
The world did the worst it could do to Jesus on the cross, and God did what only God can do in the resurrection. God proved there is nothing in this world that can lock in, conceal or overwhelm God’s power, God’s love, or God’s grace. What effect does Easter have on you?

HOW WILL YOU RESPOND
RESPOND IN PRAYER
O God of Glory, in the Easter dawn you raised Jesus from death to life. As we are united with him in death, so unite us with him in resurrection, that we may walk in newness of life. Amen.

RESPOND IN REFLECTION
  • What effect does the resurrection have on you?
  • What places in your life do you need to offer to God to infuse new life?
  • How does your life reflect that Jesus is risen?
RESPOND IN FAITH
God wants to have a relationship with you! He has given us ways to know Him better through His Son, Jesus Christ. Knowing God and having faith in Jesus is a personal and individual decision for each person. Do you have questions about beginning a relationship with God? We would love to talk with you and help you begin or deepen your faith journey.
RESPOND IN GIVING
Trusting in God with all we have, we give to support the work of God's church because we believe in our mission to share God's love with our community and world in the name of Jesus.

Give online or by mail. Giving allows us to keep being the church, even in the absence of our physical presence.
( 411 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28401)
The great thing about prayer is that it turns our perspective toward the One who stands ready to listen. No matter what you’re facing, we would love to pray with you!
Have you grown closer to God through online worship? Has your faith been strengthened during this time of social distancing? Share your story.
Do you know that you matter and you have a purpose. We want to help you become the person God has created you to be. Let us help you take your next step.
