New Family Favorite the Easter Dove
Early this spring, Chef William became the student, venturing off to Veneto, Arzignano, Italy, to study the fine art of panettone with world renowned Carlo Pozza. Bakery Nouveau is proud to present the fruits of his labor, la colomba di Pasqua, or the “Easter dove.” Easter’s counterpart to the Italian Christmas desserts, panettone and pandoro, this artisanal cake is a sweet harbinger of spring.
Each baker is proud of their unique stylings; the colomba di Pasqua has candied orange peel, orange marmalade, vanilla beans, a crunchy almond top and a sprinkling of Spanish almonds and pearl sugar.
Traditionally served with fresh berries and drizzled with chocolate, it pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee or hot tea. If you’re feeling particularly indulgent, you might try it with a glass of Prosecco or dessert wine!
