8TH GRADE PARENTS - RECOGNITION DAY TICKETS
On Monday, June 10, your child will bring home tickets for the 8th Grade Recognition Day ceremony to be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. in Greenwich High School's auditorium.  Due to our large class size, along with limited seating, we have arranged for each family to receive two tickets to the event. T hese tickets will assure that each family will have two specific, randomly assigned, reserved seats in the auditorium. The main floor level of the auditorium will be filled first, then if needed, families will be assigned seats in the front rows of the mezzanine.

You will need your ticket to enter the auditorium and find your seats. Any unreserved seats in the mezzanine and balcony levels will be filled on a first come first serve basis after 8:20 a.m. If anyone does not plan to use a ticket(s), please return them to Mrs. Gittens in the Main Office asap .

We appreciate your understanding in this matter as we all look forward to this joyous event.

SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE pencils.jpg
The SCA is running its annual school supply drive. As students finish classes and clean out their lockers they should bring any unwanted, new or used, but usable supplies to room 109. Is your family doing some spring cleaning?  Please feel free to send usable school supplies in with your child or drop them off in the office. We will be accepting donations until June 14th. Supplies will be sent to students in need.

BOX TOPS
The SCA is continuing to collect box tops this year.  Box tops for education can be found on many forms of household goods, including cereal, granola bars, fruit snacks, paper goods, and many more items.  Cut out the boxtops and send them into AB.  The SCA is planning on using money raised through box tops to buy supplies for a school in need. Please help us to make a great donation by collecting box tops at home!

OFFICE NEWS
ATTENTION ALL EMS PARENTS
Lately there has been an increase in unsafe traffic during morning student drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Vehicles have been observed driving in through the school exit lane, dropping students off on Hendrie Avenue, dropping students off in the left "through traffic" lanes, as well as driving at unsafe high speeds through the EMS property. Additionally, vehicles have been left unattended, parked in through traffic lanes. All of these pose significant safety risks for students and adults.

It is imperative that we all work together and all adhere to the safety protocols and authorized traffic patterns to ensure that we keep everyone safe! As a reminder, below is what I sent earlier this year:

For student safety and timely parent drop-off/pickup, please stay to the right side of the driveway along the sidewalk when picking up your child and/or waiting to pick them up. The left side lane is for through traffic only. This allows for vehicles that have already picked students up, are trying to exit, or get to the rear of the building.

Students should not be crossing traffic to the left lane to get picked up. This poses a significant safety risk. Thank you for your cooperation on this.

NOTICE FROM SCHOOL NURSE

12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18th to pick up your child's unused medication.  Medication not picked up by that time will be discarded.

Have a healthy, safe, relaxing, and fun summer!
