M&T Bank approves $5,000 for

'Meals for Military' Program at our Easterseals Veterans Rally Point

Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern CT is grateful to M&T Bank for their generous support of a new 'Meals for the Military' program, set to begin in 2024. The simple act of sharing meals builds social and emotional connections as well as feelings of comfort, empathy, and respect. "Meals for the Military will make it possible to not only provide sit-down meals at Easterseals Veterans Rally Point, but it also provides an opportunity for interested Military Families to become 'ServSafe' certified, building employment skills in the food industry," says Wendy Archer, Easterseals Vice President of Marketing & Philanthropy. We are excited to watch this program take shape!

Honoree Spotlight: Tori Fiske

Congratulations to Tori (Victoria) Fiske on being awarded Easterseal's Medical Rehabilitation Patient of the Year 2023! Tori moved to CT one year ago, seeking comprehensive services to support her needs as a young adult with Cerebral Palsy. At our Easterseals, Tori found a medical team that could provide her with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy - all under one roof! Tori has worked incredibly hard over the last year to build skills that would increase her independence and ability to navigate her environment. With a new speech system developed for Tori with Easterseals Speech-Language Pathologist, Nicole Stanziale, Tori is now able to do things like request her favorite songs or movies and talk about topics of interest, like her family's recent vacation.
