INCLUSION

Singing Our Faith ~ “There Is Room For All”

There is room for all in the shelter of God’s wing.
There is room for all in the shelter of God’s love.
And I rejoice and sing,
“My refuge and my rock in whom I trust!”
There is room for all.
There is room for all.

Welcome and Announcements

One: We are held by an awesome beauty.
All: Above, below, surrounding us is the constant presence of Life and Love.
One: So let us celebrate the richness of love and diversity of life by singing our hearts out.

Singing Our Faith ~ "Companions on The Journey"

Chorus:
We are companions on our journey,
Breaking bread and sharing life.
In the love we bear is the hope we share
For we believe in the love of our God.
Yes, we believe in the love of our God.

No longer strangers to each other,
No longer strangers in God’s house,
We are blest and we are nourished,
By the love we all can share.
Chorus

Although the journey may be rocky,
Although the way’s not always clear,
We will share God’s love a-plenty,
With all people far and near.
Chorus

Invitation to Give
Let us bring our offerings as a decision to be co-creators with God in a safer and more inclusive world. Let us give of ourselves and our offerings to make life good.

Offering and Offertory
Dedication of Our Offerings
One: The Spirit of Life and Love is the weaver, making patterns, and spinning threads throughout our days.
All: May we have the wisdom to discern, the generosity and compassion to help, and the courage to allow ourselves and our gifts to be a part of life’s tapestry.

The Prayer of Jesus (sung responsively)
Our Creator in heaven || Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. || Your will be done
On earth as in heaven. ||
Give us today our daily bread, || Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those || Who trespass against us.
Save us from the time of trial, || And deliver us || from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours ||
Now and forever. || Amen ||

JUSTICE

Word About Life - Shared by Rev. Ken Heintzelman
Acts 9:36-43
Now in Joppa there was a disciple whose name was Tabitha, which in Greek is Dorcas. She was devoted to good works and acts of charity. At that time she became ill and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in a room upstairs. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the  disciples, who heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him with the request, "Please come to us without delay." So Peter got up and went with them; and when he arrived, they took him to the room upstairs. All the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing   tunics and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was with them. Peter put all of them outside, and then he knelt down and prayed. He turned to the body and said, "Tabitha, get up." Then she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up. He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he showed her to be alive. This became known throughout Joppa, and many  believed in the Lord. Meanwhile he stayed in Joppa for some time with a certain Simon, a tanner.

SPIRITUALITY

Words for Mission
One: As the Spirit teaches inwardly, may we involve ourselves in the grander issues of life:
All: Those issues which make a compelling difference, which create the good life for all humanity.
One: These are the times.
All: We are the people.
One: All of Creation is blessed.
All: May we love all and serve all.
One: May God be with you.
All: And also with you.
One: Amen.
All: Amen.

Send-Off Song ~ "Trees of the Field"
You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth before you.
There’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field
will clap, will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
While you go out with joy.
(Repeat faster)
Spiritual Direction Tip:

Resistance...

Resistance is a familiar experience for many. Resistance is what happens when, along our spiritual journey, we find ourselves resisting the movement of Spirit within us. Among people of faith and conscience, resistance can sound completely different to different people in differing circumstances. Maybe some of these sound familiar.

- so woo woo! who has the time?
- when I get still and quiet, I get anxious and fearful
- this is for people who are "called" and that's not me
- time and space are limited
- afraid of regrets and change... what ifs
- I'm doing *just fine* thankyouverymuch

Possibilities for Working with Resistance:
⇒ Name it! Sometimes this is enough. ☺
⇒ Be patient and kind to yourself.
⇒ Be encouraged! Where there is resistance, there is Spirit.
⇒ Work through it, sideways.
