The Cape Cod & Islands Board of Realtors (CCIAOR) has published a website specifically targeted at homeowners who seasonally rent their homes. This website is (mostly) a consolidation of the state guidelines, the 'best practices' associated with summer rentals, and a few examples of lease addendum for summer leases.

Massachusetts Reopening Plan - Entering Phase 2
YAY! We are entering Phase 2 today! (June 8th). This week is an important because it opens up significant portions of our economy that has been off-limits up to then. Most notably short term rentals (see story above) and most restaurants, with significant 'social distancing' mandates.

Below is Gov Baker's chart, redrawn so we can track our progress. I'll try to maintain this chart so that the key dates remain front and center and that we get to see our goal, the 'New Normal', now slated for July 20th (ugh!). Each phase is a minimum of 3 weeks, with the possibility that any phase can expand as the data (and the Governor) requires. Check out the full list at 'Reopening Massachusetts'.

Eastham 400 - Sunset Series
This week, and continuing for 99 evenings, the Eastham 400 Sunset Series will ring a bell 15 minutes before sunset and continue with a daily 10-minute presentation of some fragment of Eastham’s history and a reading from Ian Saxine’s new book, The Story of the “First Encounter” at Nauset. With COVOD, many of these will be only on video. Check out June 5th. (Note - that's me).
