Coronavirus Update #15

I plan to publish an update video each week until we get the 'all clear'. Hopefully this won't be too much longer.
Concerts on the Green
This may be one of the few normal (or 'almost' normal) parts of this summer. Once again, the Eastham Visitors Tourism and Promotion Service Board is sponsoring a summer-long Monday evening series of concerts on the Windmill Green. Special considerations are being paid to maintain proper social distancing. The first concert is July 6th. This should be fun.

Mass Reopening Plan - Phase 3, Delayed
We are now three weeks into Phase 2 (June 29nd). BUT, instead of flowing seamlessly into Phase 3, the Governor has chosen to extend Phase 2 by (at least) one week, which means that Phase 3, at the earliest, will begin July 6th, next Monday. Here is a link to a Channel 10 (NBC) story about entering Phase 3.

Normally, the un-official beginning of the summer rental season is the last Saturday in June (the 'normal' end is Labor Day). Truth be told - summer is here. There seems to be a lot of folks here. The beaches are full. The grocery stores seem full. But, nicely, folks seem to be careful and doing the social-distancing thing.

This past week Bev and I went out to eat - attempting to have a 'special' anniversary meal. Our reservations at one restaurant, on their covered deck, were cancelled, by them, due to the weather. We ended up at the C-Shore, in Wellfleet, eating under their tent during the rain. The poor servers got rained-on as they went back and forth to the kitchen. BTW - the service and the food was great!
Below is Gov Baker's chart, redrawn so we can track our progress. I'll try to maintain this chart so that the key dates remain front and center and so we can see our goal, the 'New Normal', now slated for July 27th (ugh!). Each phase is a minimum of 3 weeks, with the possibility that any phase can expand as the data (and the Governor) requires. Check out the full list at 'Reopening Massachusetts'.
