Mass Reopening Plan - Entering Phase 3
First the good news - the Governor has given us the green light to enter Phase 3 of the Re-opening Plan. Phase 3 provides significant new freedom to get back to normal. But there are still quite a few things that are still off-limits. The attached email from the Chamber of Commerce provides the details.
The bad news is that the Governor says that Phase 3 will be significantly longer than Phases 1 (3 weeks) and 2 (4 weeks). Understandably, the Governor sees what's happening in other states as they relax their guidelines and wants to avoid a numbers relapse here in Massachusetts. We have been on a great path of more testing but fewer folks in the hospitals..If Phase 3 is 4 weeks long, then Phase 4 (the 'new' normal) will start August 3).
Below is Gov Baker's chart, redrawn so we can track our progress. I'll try to maintain this chart so that the key dates remain front and center and so we can see our goal, the 'New Normal', now slated for .... TBD. Each phase is a minimum of 3 weeks, Phase 2 was 4 weeks, and Phase 3 will be a minimum of 4 weeks. The schedule will be driven by the data (and the Governor).
