Coronavirus Update #9

I plan to publish an update video each week until we get the 'all clear'. Hopefully this won't be too much longer.
Summer Rental Survey ... Pass 2
If you are a rental landlord - Have you had many cancellations for this summer? Your answers are confidential.

The economy of the Outer Cape so depends on tourists, including a lot of renters, spending money to stay, eat, and play. This summer will be interesting. Please click on one of these buttons.

I'll publish the results next week. Thank you.
Massachusetts Reopening Plan
This is very complicated, so pay attention. The Governor today announced the details for his 4 phase plan for reopening the state (see chart below). The details are in the 2 'NEW' documents above. In short, each phase is a minimum of 3 weeks with each phase opening up to new business groups. We are entering Phase 1 today (5/18), with places of worship, manufacturing, and a few other businesses opening today. Next week (5/25) can be barbershops, hair salons, and car washes. AND beaches. All these openings are with 'proper social distancing'.

Phase 2, no earlier than 6/8, are short term rentals, hotels, restaurants, and a lot of other businesses. The State is looking at whether they can do hotels, restaurants, and short term earlier than Phase 2, to be determined by a task force currently underway. Not helpful.

Phase 4 is called the 'New Normal'. The earliest the 'New Normal' can get here is in nine weeks. Ugh.

I expect this plan to be tweaked several times over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
Eastham Public Library 3D Tour
I've been in love with the new library since the 'beginning'. The fact that the parking lot is often full (pre-COVID19) attests to the value it provides to the community. The 'trained professionals' at the library, led by its director Debra DeJonker-Berry, are constantly looking for new ways to serve the Town's varied demographics by providing many advanced services and utilizing the library in exciting ways. They are working overtime to provide additional services during the pandemic 'downtime'. They maintain a long list of activities that can be done without actually coming to the library building. Check out their website at www.EasthamLibrary.org . Look for a signup to their weekly WOW-brary newsletter, their virtual story time and links to other available COVID resources. .

All that said, the new library is an architectural masterpiece. It needs to be experienced first-hand. One way to experience it (particularly now) is to take a 3-D virtual tour of the Library. I hired a 3-D Tour photographer to create a 3-D tour that will knock your socks off.  Check out the 3-D Tour....HERE
