Spring always feels a bit like a reset around here. After a long New England winter, it’s exciting to see everything come back to life, both outside and here at E•Media as we prepare for our Annual Meeting in June.
Looking back over the past year, it’s incredible to see how much has happened. We’ve held three Producer’s Nights with solid attendance each time, continued expanding local programming, and are now producing more original content than at any point in our history. We were also honored to receive four ACM awards over the last year, including three regional awards and our first national award.
At the same time, we’ve continued to help grow the Go Digital Easthampton initiative into something we believe is both impactful and sustainable for the community. And of course, there’s EMMA, our new mobile production van, which is already changing the way we approach field productions and community coverage.
Every year seems to bring another major step forward for E•Media, and this one has been no exception. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re excited to welcome more people into the process, whether as producers, members, volunteers, partners, or simply supporters of community media and local storytelling.

Amanda Rodriguez
Representing the "Perfect Producer" by creating both a podcast with over 1,000 followers and an entertaining video program for all ages.
Amanda has been diligent in learning new productions skills. She went so far as to create a recording studio in her home and to upgrade her computer so she can continue to work on her programs at her own pace.
Her new media skills have even caught the attention of her work colleagues which will enable her to bring even more value to their projects.
Amanda's enthusiasm and dedication to creating fun and relatable content is a breath of fresh air in the studio. Congratulations Amanda!

Penelope Chatterton
Awake in the Dream

Penelope Chatterton first began her work with community media nearly 50 years ago, interviewing spiritual crusaders and religious people on the Cape, in New York, and Wisconsin.
She began her program “Awake in the Dream” while she was still living on the Cape and drove to Easthampton to work with our very own Tim Riley. They’ve worked together to produce her program for more than a decade. Creating more than 60 episodes for television and most recently as a podcast.
Penelope’s intense affection for the teachings of Joel S. Goldsmith (The Infinite Way) has remained her motivation and guiding light to share her thoughts and his words.
Her message to us all remains that “There is a uniquely ordained inner assignment for us all. Get to enjoy your assignment. You've got one. “
We are immensely proud of Penelope’s work and appreciate the many baskets of cookies and treats over the years.

Ted Perch
In Studio
61 episodes (2013-2025)
Ted Perch has had a significant history and impact through his involvement in media beginning in 1990 as a volunteer with a college community radio station at the University of Connecticut (WHUS). He produced a variety of music, news, and related content.
Later, he joined a USAID grant project with the University of Connecticut in the Republic of Senegal where his work proved influential in addressing local environmental hazards in the city of Dakar. He continued to work with WHUS until 2000.
Ted was also a substitute producer at WCNI (Connecticut College) from 2007 to 2012.
In 2013 he began his television program at ECAT, now E•Media. Producing “In Studio” provided a means for Ted and viewers to get to know and support creatives in our area. He produced 61 episodes for television with his most recent episodes available as a podcast. Some of its greatest number views come from interviews from Jon Carroll and Dave Kutcher whose studios also reside here in the Eastworks building.
In addition, Ted served for 7 years on the board of directors on ECAT and helped to see its transition to its current home in the Eastworks building.
Ted is a member of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) and remains a loyal supporter of community media.

Plunging into Unified Sports at Easthampton High School
Dave Beauregard and Megan Smith are seeking to reintroduce unified sports at Easthampton High School and including a partnership with special olympics to provide our youth with more opportunities to feel involved and to strengthen community connections.
The EHS Media Club filmed the Polar Plunge for the High School. Kaleb Allen, Lexe Martinez and Marley Nelson camera filmed the plunge with interviews with Eagle (Michelle Balch), Mr. Beauregard, Miss Smith, Miss Baj, The Greenfield Party Animals and Avery.

Therapists Answer Teens’ Questions
The Easthampton High School Diverse Leaders Club held a panel discussion with two local therapists to go over the positive impacts of therapy.
This production has the potential to be of great value to youth and others who are curious about mental health counseling and support. It provides a better understanding of what therapy is and thereby increases awareness to the value of accessibility to quality mental health resources.
This program is a nonprofit public access community media production and may be shared freely with other media outlets and can be embedded into your community resource pages on your website.

Folktales & Fusions presents an aesthetic and body of work as multifaceted as the guitarist himself.
Folktales & Fusions is genre straddling original music that varies in shape, texture and form. Folktales & Fusions runs the gamut from barnstorming romps and Frissel-tinged Americana, to expressive classically derived fusions that meld baroque, country, jazz and rock forming the basis for ear-bending aural adventure.

Through a new grant awarded by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI), the City of Easthampton and the Go Digital Easthampton partnership will soon be offering FREE long-term loans of brand-new laptops and Chromebooks to Easthampton residents.
And here’s the important part:
This program is not only for people who currently don’t have a device. If your current computer is outdated, unreliable, too slow, or no longer meets your needs, you may also be eligible for an upgraded device through the program.
Whether you need a computer for:
• Job searching or workforce training
• Telehealth appointments
• Online learning
• Staying connected with family and friends
• Or simply having reliable access to today’s digital world
…this program is designed to help.
Devices will be available through the Easthampton Public Library and Easthampton Veterans Services Department. Participants will complete a short survey about their needs and sign up for a pickup session.
Need help getting started? No problem. Free tech support sessions and digital literacy classes through Go Digital Easthampton will continue to be available to help you feel comfortable and confident using your device.
