Everyone is invited to the 4th Annual Turning Points Golf Tournament and luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 25. Non-golfers are welcome to attend the special luncheon to benefit TPN, a local non-profit agency whose mission is to prevent violence, promote respect and strengthen lives.

Registration options include golf/cart, golf/cart/lunch, or lunch-only. Registration deadline is Aug. 19. This event, hosted by the Eastman Women's Golf Association, is open to men and women, EGL members, the Eastman community and the public.

This year's end-of-summer event, sponsored by Recreation and Bistro Nouveau, will be in the Draper Room at the newly renovated Center. The storm water project at South Cove is scheduled to begin Sept. 6 and last three to four weeks. During some of this project, there will be limited access to the back doors and the Pavilion. We will update the community with any changes in schedule or new information as it comes available to us.

The ECA building on Draper Road is now closed. DO NOT drop off payments or other items there. The ECA Offices are in the newly renovated Center at Eastman on Clubhouse Lane, with the Golf and Ski Center, and Bistro Nouveau. The Village District of Eastman Office is in new quarters on Wellfield Road, past the speed bump and the turn to the Pickleball Courts.

Thank you to everyone who helped the Newport Food Pantry reach its goal for the $25,000 matching grant! Donations are always welcome. Non-perishable food and personal care items can be left at Grantham Town Hall. Checks may be made payable and sent to Newport Food Pantry, PO Box 672, Newport, NH 03773.

Walking/Jogging on Eastman Golf Links is limited to certain times for your own safety. Following are the usual times for using the EGL cart paths, but you must check in with the Pro Shop before starting out as times may change. Mondays: Dawn - 11 a.m. Cart Paths on all 18 holes; Tuesdays-Fridays: Dawn - 9 a.m. Cart Paths on Holes 10-18. Not available on weekends or holidays. ACBL-sanctioned Bridge is back at The Center at Eastman beginning at 1 p.m. every Tuesday. Players welcome. For more information, including weekly results, visit www.EastmanBridgeClub.com. Click the tab in the top right corner for game results.

The Eastman Handbell Ringers will start a new season soon. If playing music in a group interests you, contact Jane Sachs at [email protected]. Beginners welcome but must be able to read music.

Summer maintenance is ongoing throughout Eastman. Please watch for workers and drive slowly through work areas. We appreciate your help in keeping our crew safe.
