Dear Eastview Friends and Families,

Welcome to April! We ended our March with many celebrations including our March Leader of the Pack winners, our 3rd Quarter Eagle Earnings Auction, and our Day of Awesomeness. I hope that the Spring break offered some enjoyable family time as well as some time to relax and rejuvenate. We continue to be so proud of our students and their accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.

April will be a busy month as teachers continue to introduce students to new content and learning goals. Additionally, we will continue to prepare for the mandated Wisconsin state testing, the Forward Exam. At Eastview, testing will begin on April 6th for our 4th graders and April 12th for our 5th graders. An email with additional information about testing was sent out to families on Wednesday, March 23rd. Please use this email as a reference for important details regarding student testing.

Lastly, our final round of Lighted School House activities will be starting on April 18th. Spring catalogs will be shared with students the week of April 11th. There will be many exciting offerings and fun opportunities for students to get involved, so we hope to see many students participate. As always, thank you for your continued support of Eastview Elementary School, our staff, and our students. Together, we make an amazing team for kids!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Erin Zigler

March's Character Trait of the Month
suggested student reflection on
"What Am I Passionate About, and What
Can I Share to Inspire My Peers?"
These students, chosen from each classroom, were
nominated by their peers for standing out in a crowd
as someone who inspires and motivates his/her peers
to go after their passions and make them known!
Congratulations to all of you!

Did you know that April is
National Poetry Month?
It's the largest literary celebration
in the world!
And here's a little hint- poetry books make great gifts
ANY time of the year!

Special thanks to Candace Fleming for visiting with us in-person on March 21st. Our students enjoyed reading her books and listening to her take us through her adventures as a writer. Incidentally, her husband, Eric Rohmann, illustrates some of her books. Imagine that!

April begins our fourth and last quarter of the school year. Time to set those final reading goals: AR Points Club and Million Words!
If you have any specific questions, please email our school librarian: maryjo.fesenmaier@badger.k12.wi.us

Eastview Student Council's
Carnival and Bake Sale
was a rousing success, and lots of FUN!!
Thank you, Student Council members!

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL IN THE
PLASTIC FILM RECYCLING CHALLENGE!

This year, Eastview is competing against hundreds of schools across the nation to recycle the most plastic film. The challenge not only helps the planet but provides our students with a better understanding and appreciation for the importance of recycling. The challenge begins on America Recycles Day, November 15, and lasts until April 15. Eastview will have recycling bins for students to place objects in. What can be recycled? Check out the graphic!
Eastview students were well represented at the
Orchestra Festival!
Great job Eagle musicians!

Bravo to our Accent Choir
for a wonderful presentation of
The Elephant's Child,
A Musical
Well done!
