Dear Eastview Families,
It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the final weeks of the school year! Time has flown by, and what an incredible journey it’s been. Our dedicated Eastview staff continues to pour their hearts into every day, making the most of these final weeks to support student learning and growth. It’s been truly inspiring to watch our students thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally—and we’re so proud of all they’ve accomplished this year.
As we wrap up the year, we’re also looking forward to several exciting events happening in the coming weeks:
🌟 Staff Appreciation Week – May 5–9
We are so fortunate to have an exceptional team of educators and support staff at Eastview. They go above and beyond to ensure every child feels supported, challenged, and inspired. During Staff Appreciation Week, we encourage families to share a note of thanks or a kind gesture to show our staff just how much they are valued. Their dedication truly makes a difference every single day!
📊 Spring iReady Testing – Week of May 12
Our final round of iReady testing is just around the corner. This important assessment helps us reflect on the growth our students have made throughout the year—and we’re already seeing impressive results! It’s a great way for students to recognize how far they’ve come and to finish strong with a sense of accomplishment.
🏫 5th Grade LGMS Visit – May 12
On May 12, our 5th graders will take a special trip to Lake Geneva Middle School! This visit gives them a chance to meet future teachers, explore their new school, and get excited about the big transition ahead. It’s always a highlight of the year and a great step in helping students feel confident and prepared for the next chapter.
🎒 Year-End Field Trips – 4th & 5th Grade
To celebrate the end of an amazing year, our 4th and 5th graders will be heading out on their final field trips! Teachers will be sharing more details soon, but these adventures are a fantastic way to create lasting memories with classmates and celebrate a job well done.
As we move into May, we hope your family enjoys the longer days, warmer weather, and all the joy that this season brings. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support of Eastview and our incredible students. Together, we’ve made this year one to remember!
Warmly,
Katie Stanton
Principal

Each month, Eastview students will nominate fellow Eagles who exemplify Being Kind, Being Strong, and Being Well for the SOAR Award! This year's focus will be on the characteristics that students will be learning about in their Character Strong curriculum. Students who receive the award will be recognized on our morning announcements, will be highlighted in our monthly newsletter, and will receive a certificate honoring their positive contribution to the culture of Eastview.
SOAR Award recipients are not necessarily those students who excel academically or in extracurricular activities. With this award, students are striving to recognize peers who continue to follow school-wide and classroom expectations, and who exhibit values that make a positive difference in our school and community. These are students who demonstrate exceptional character but never expect recognition. They are members of our Eastview Elementary community who are seen as positively impacting the culture of our school on a daily basis.
This month, the recipients of the SOAR award have shown that they continually demonstrate what it means to show cooperation. Congratulations to Anakin Bouhl, Ruka Connelly, Annabelle Fleischer, Mason Hembrook, Jackson Hoffmann, Brandi Hucker, Elora Hundt, Dylan Lux, Leonardo Moreno, Felix Spoden, and Alessander Valadez.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
This month students will be learning about the topic of Courage in their Character Strong curriculum.
One way to think about courage is "choosing what is helpful, right, and kind even when it is hard or scary."
Courage is one of three traits that students have been focusing on throughout the year that helps students "Be Strong." Throughout the school year, students have been developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting. Students will evaluate the impact organization has on their ability to practice Courage.

| | SCHOOL-WIDE EXPECTATIONS MATRIX | | In an effort to bring consistent expectations to Eastview, staff will be going over Eastview's School-wide Expectations Matrix with all students throughout the school year. This matrix will provide students with a visual reminder and detailed explanation of what the expectations are for all students in various locations throughout the building. Staff will provide multiple opportunities for students to be taught and re-taught these expectations throughout the school year. We look forward to bringing consistency to our students and to provide them with opportunities to continue to enhance their learning environment. | | |
When to Send Your Child to School or Keep Them Home?
At Lake Geneva Schools, we know that regular attendance is key to academic success! Being in class daily helps students build strong habits, stay engaged, and gain valuable social skills. However, we also want to maintain a healthy, germ-free learning environment.
Use this guide (https://bit.ly/healthyLGS) to help decide when your child should attend school or stay home to recover. If your child has a fever over 100.4°F, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, it's best for them to rest at home. For minor symptoms like a runny nose, if there’s no fever, they’re ready for class!
When in doubt, contact the school health office, and let's work together to keep everyone healthy and learning!

Whom do I contact with a question or suggestion?
Lake Geneva Schools’ communication protocols help promote direct, open, and respectful interactions so that we quickly and efficiently resolve problems and concerns. The communication protocol starts with the staff member closest to the situation, as that person usually has the most information. However, at times, additional personnel are required to resolve specific concerns.
