Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District Mission Statement

Engage. Educate. Empower.

TOGETHER WE CAN!

Dear Eastview Family and Friends,

As we step into April, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our wonderful students, staff, and families. As we begin the final quarter of the school year, we must maintain our focus and determination to finish strong.

The final stretch of the academic year is upon us, and it's natural for excitement to build as we anticipate better weather and the end of school. However, we must remind ourselves of the importance of staying focused on academics until the very end. This time of year presents opportunities for continued growth and learning, and we owe it to ourselves to make the most of it.

For our students, staying focused means maintaining good study habits, actively participating in class, and completing assignments with care and attention to detail. It means setting goals and working diligently to achieve them, even when distractions may arise.

Parents and guardians, your support and encouragement play a vital role in helping our students stay on track. Please continue to emphasize the importance of education and the value of perseverance. By working together as a team, we can ensure that our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed academically and personally.

As we embark on this final leg of the school year journey, let's embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with enthusiasm and determination. Together, let's stay focused, work hard, and finish the year on a high note.

Thank you for your continued support, and let's make the rest of the school year one to remember!

Sincerely,

Grant Strobel

Principal

April 2024 Referendums

On the April 2 ballot, the Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District and the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union (Badger) High School District will each ask the voters to approve exceeding the revenue limit by $3,000,000 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year for recurring purposes consisting of ongoing operational and maintenance expenses, infrastructure, technology and safety upgrades, and educational programming.

Why Referendum?

Our Districts face financial challenges that require the attention of our entire community. This is due to several factors:

  • Outdated Funding System
  • Inadequate State Funding
  • Growing Student Needs
  • Rising Operational Costs

What will Operational Referendums allow the districts to do?

  • Support for teaching and learning to increase student growth and achievement and offer competitive academic courses, programs, and services for all students.
  • Attract and retain the best educators by providing competitive salaries and benefits.
  • Address annual, ongoing maintenance on our aging buildings.
  • Cover rising inflationary costs on goods and services, including transportation, utilities, curriculum, supplies, and equipment.

What have the districts done to be fiscally responsible?

What is the estimated tax impact?

In our tech-savvy world, smartwatches have become popular among many of our students. While these devices offer convenience, they also pose a significant distraction in the classroom.

The constant notifications and access to games can disrupt learning. To address this, we are asking that families consider if their child needs to have one on while at school.  In addition, if you need to get a message to your child please contact the main office and we will get the message to your child.

Let's work together to ensure that technology enhances rather than hinders our students' educational experience.

March's Character Trait of the Month

was "Friendship"

These students, chosen from each classroom, were nominated

by their peers for consistently modeling traits consistent with being a good friend to others in our school community.

Congratulations to all of you!

School attendance is very important, and we encourage families to make sure their children are in school as much as possible. However, children who are sick need to stay home for their well-being and to prevent others from becoming sick. If you have information regarding bullying, harassment, or other non-emergency school safety concerns and would like to report this information, please click here to learn more, fill out a school-specific reporting form to the best of your knowledge, and submit it.

Whom do I contact with a question or suggestion? Lake Geneva Schools’ communication protocols help promote direct, open, and respectful interactions so that we quickly and efficiently resolve problems and concerns. The communication protocol starts with the staff member closest to the situation, as that person usually has the most information. However, at times, additional personnel are required to resolve specific concerns.
