Dear Eastview Family and Friends,
As we return to Eastview in January, our school will be taking part in a shared reading event. On December 22nd, each student received a copy of the same book, Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt, as a gift to them from our school. Over the month of January, our entire school will be reading this book together daily. Each day, students will be engaged in read aloud activities, classroom discussions, writing projects, and trivia questions. It will be a wonderful way to share literature, as a school, and create excitement and enjoyment around reading. If you would like, I encourage you to read along with us! This might create some fun conversations at home and really make that home-school connection even stronger.
Additionally, in January, we will again be starting our Lighted-School House activities the week of January 16th. Please look for the course guide that will be sent home with students when we return the week of January 3rd. For our Leader of the Pack Award in January, we will be focusing on the trait of Problem Solving. We will be looking for students who are able to effectively solve problems and model that process to peers. We will honor our winners at the end of the month.
Lastly, January 20th will mark the end of the second quarter for school. Report cards will be sent home with students on Friday, January 27th. Our PBIS Committee will again be hosting an Eagle Earnings Auction for students, giving them the opportunity to spend the Eagle Earnings they have gained over the last quarter of school for demonstrating outstanding character. It is a great way to celebrate the many successes of our students over the last quarter of school.
Thank you again for your continued support as we kick off the new year together and head into 2023! Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Erin Zigler
