Dear Eastview Families and Friends,

The month of October has been a busy one, full of learning, fun, and excitement here at school.  In our classrooms, students have been engaged in learning new concepts in the areas of math, ELA, science and social studies.  Teachers have been busy working with students, in both large and small groups, assessing their progress in mastering these new skills.  In addition, we proctored the I-Ready assessment tool in order to gain additional information about our students, as learners, and to differentiate their learning in order to meet their instructional targets.  Also, I know that teachers were very excited to meet with parents at the end of the month, during parent-teacher conferences, to share information about student performance these first two months of school.  In addition to our academics, a few extra-curricular highlights from this month include Badger Homecoming week, LGMS band parade at Eastview, Lighted School House activities, the Eastview-Star cross country meet, October Leader of the Pack Winners, our monthly teacher trivia, and the Scholastic Book Fair.

During the month of November, as a part of our SOAR expectations, we will be focusing on the trait of respect.  As a school community, we will be working to demonstrate respect towards one another and to model respectful actions throughout our school day.  Respect will also be the focus during our morning meeting time.  As a part of our SOAR expectations and PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) program, we will be celebrating the end of our first quarter with our Eagle Earnings auction, where students will be able to bid on items with their Eagle Earnings.  We will also be hosting a Minute to Win It Assembly.  Finally, some additional notable events this month include a visit from the Badger High School Musical cast on Nov. 4th and our Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 11th.  Student report cards will also be sent home on November 11th, so please look for those coming home with your child.

As always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. As we head towards the season of Thanksgiving, we are thankful for your continued support and being a part of our Eastview community.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Erin Zigler

Don’t forget to change

your clocks!

This year, the clocks

“fall back” one hour

at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Notes from your school librarian...

Chromebook Care Tips https://youtu.be/czXax6UKNwQ

  1. Keep your Chromebook on a flat surface like a table or a desk. Leave your Chromebook in your protective case at all times.
  2. Don't pile things on top of your Chromebook.
  3. Make sure there isn't anything on the keyboard when you close your Chromebook. It could break the screen!
  4. Keep food and drinks away from your Chromebook and make sure your hands are clean. (Crumbs and liquids are very bad for your Chromebook and can cause it to stop working properly.)
  5. Be careful how you carry your Chromebook. Make sure your Chromebook is closed, always use two hands, and never carry your Chromebook while open.
  6. Keep it charged. Plug it in every night at home.
  7. Tell your teacher right away if it breaks. Don't try to fix it yourself.
  8. Remember to take care of yourself online too. Stay on approved websites, keep your password private, and log off when you're done. Remember anything that happens under your account is your responsibility.

would be taken home by all different sorts of kids."

Congratulations to this month's winners of

Teacher Trivia!

(the answer was Mrs. Sleider!)

School attendance is very important, and we encourage families to make sure their children are in school as much as possible. However, children who are sick need to stay home for their well-being and to prevent others from becoming sick.
