Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District Mission Statement

Engage. Educate. Empower.

TOGETHER WE CAN!

Dear Eastview Families and Friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well.  November is a month of reflection, gratitude, and celebration.  It’s a time when we can come together as a school community to appreciate the many things we are thankful for.  I am grateful for the opportunity to work with your children on a daily basis.  The group of students that Eastview currently has is a wonderful group of children who bring joy to our building every day.

We have some fantastic events planned in the month of November.

  1. Veterans Day Assembly.  Our students will honor our veterans with a special assembly on November 10th.  Students will be bringing home an invitation to invite those who have served in the military.
  2. Food Drive.  Eastview will again be helping our community with the upcoming food drive that helps support our local food pantry. This event is planned for the week of Nov. 27th.  Additional information will be available as the food drive gets closer.

I also have some reminders for all.

  1. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the changing weather.  Layers are a good choice, as we get all kinds of weather at this time of the year in Wisconsin.
  2. Don’t forget to check your child’s agenda on a daily basis.  This is a great tool for our school-home connection.
  3. Encourage your child to read on a daily basis.  Reading is the key to academic success!
  4. Quarter 1 comes to an end on November 10th.  Report cards will be emailed home on November 17th.  Please look for those in your email.

As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community.  Your continued support makes a significant difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for entrusting Eastview with the education and well-being of your children.  I wish you a warm and joyful November.

Just a few "notes" from the Music Room...

It has been a busy couple of months in the music room!  We have been singing, dancing, clapping rhythms, playing instruments, and learning new notes and rests.  Fourth grade has been introduced to an abundance of music vocabulary that we will be using throughout their time here at Eastview.  Fifth grade spent some time reviewing last year’s notes, symbols, and vocabulary too.  See how many of the following terms your student remembers!

music staff

Coming up in November!

Fourth graders have been hard at work learning how to identify the notes on the treble clef staff.  Soon they will get their individual Mad Minute goals and begin working on speed of recognition.

Fifth graders will begin their preparations for Eastview’s holiday program, so Save the Date!  The performance will be Wednesday, December 13th at 6:00pm in the Eastview gymnasium.  Doors will open at 5:30 and fifth graders need to be in their classrooms by 5:45pm.  More information to follow.

School attendance is very important, and we encourage families to make sure their children are in school as much as possible. However, children who are sick need to stay home for their well-being and to prevent others from becoming sick.
