We Make YOUR Travel Plans EASY
I'm enjoying being home since I returned from Alaska. It's given me the opportunity to catch up on work and get all my groups organized. I had another delightful visit last week from my younger sister and, once again, we shopped, ate, saw a movie and laughed a lot. For those of you who watch HGTV and Fixer Upper, we took a road trip to Magnolia in Waco, TX. More about our adventure below.
I hope all your kids and grandkids are adjusting to the new school year and all are happy. Be sure to slow down and drive carefully in school zones.

I'm getting ready to head to New York City for a few days and then on to our New England Cruise. More about this in our October Newsletter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you who live in the areas affected by Hurricane Florence. May you and your loved ones all be safe.

Road Trip.....Waco, TX
My younger sister came to visit from Phoenix and was very excited about visiting Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia store, Silo Bakery and more. It's about a 2 hour drive south of Dallas. We were very fortunate that the weather had cooled off for a few days. I had tried to visit one other time on my way to Austin but the streets were packed with crowds and parking was nowhere to be found. Not so this time. We inched down the main street where my navigation directed us and there it was....a handicap parking space on the street directly in front of the information booth! That is true parking karma! I was able to lower the ramp on my van right on the grass and roll out in my scooter. First stop was the bakery. We had read that the lines could wrap around the block but not this time. In we went and ordered our cupcakes and cookies. Found a shady spot on the patio to sit and dug in. A little too sweet for us so after a couple of bites, we were done. Saved the cookies for the ride home. Then we headed to the large and spacious store. Didn't think I needed anything but I was wrong! After just redecorating my house in Joanna's favorite colors, gray and white, I just saw too many items that went with my new look. Everything here is wheelchair accessible and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. The accessible bathrooms are fantastic and everything is very clean. Sort of reminded me of Disneyland where staff is always sweeping and wiping things down. Out back is a large grassy area surrounded by pavement. On the grass there are inviting black and white striped bean bags for people to relax in. There's also a large bin with balls for children to play with as well as a covered patio with picnic tables. The entire area is surrounded by food trucks. One of the trucks is from their restaurant, Magnolia Table. We enjoyed chicken salad sandwiches and some mac & cheese. Delicious! Laden down with packages and full stomachs we headed to the van. We stopped at one more store, The Findery, and we did indeed find something. We bought matching hot pink rain jackets that we are wearing on the European Cruise next year. So, if you're coming on that trip, no problem finding us! A very fun girl's road trip.
Are You TSA Pre-Checked?
This illustration depicts a barefoot woman holding a tray with her shoes and necklace at an airport security checkpoint.
What exactly does this mean and how does this affect you when your boarding pass says "TSA Pre-Checked". In simple terms, it means you do not have to remove your shoes and take your laptop or IPad out of its case. You can leave a light jacket on and it just makes the process easier. However, if you wear prosthetics or leg braces, use a wheelchair or other mobility devices, you still need to be manually checked by a TSA Officer.

Need a Scooter?
We can help!
Do you need to rent a scooter or other mobility equipment for your next cruise or land trip?
Be sure and let us know and we can make arrangements for you through Special Needs Group.

Standard and heavy duty scooters, wheelchairs, hospital beds, hoyer lifts, lift chairs, oxygen and more are all possibilities for you when you travel.
