Student Support:
Includes the majority of our budget to support students via Club Fund Grants (under $500) and Special Projects (over $500) requests from teachers/staff to fund classroom supplies, technology, equipment for clubs and teams.
Special Projects
- Chaired by PTSA Board member Dionne Richardson, this program allows teachers and staff to apply for funding for educational or school-related needs that otherwise would not be provided. The application process is lengthy and detailed.
In 2018-2019, the program spent almost $14,000
. Some of the items purchased include: embroidered polo shirts for ESE Special Olympics, a camcorder, stabilizer, and battery for Career & Technical Ed., soccer equipment, a dehumidifier for the weight room, and a plastic tank & fencing for a macrocosm experiment for science.
In 2019-2020
to date we have spent a similar amount of money, and some of the items purchased include: free weights for the weight room (purchase in the process), a Theragun machine used for therapy for athletes with musculoskeletal injuries, three mobile charging carts, a class set of headphones for an ESOL-mandated state program, and boys’ basketball uniforms.
