COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates:

School is closed until at least 4/15.

General Information about public school status and preparedness in regard to COVID-19 is  here .
In addition, make sure you are following Miami-Dade County Public School’s social media (see below) for announcements and listening to Connect-Ed phone calls when they are made. Palmetto High PTSA will also continue to give updates as we receive them.

PINECREST VILLAGE COVID-19 UPDATES (03.17.20):
----------
Village Hall and the Building & Planning Department are transitioning to web and phone-based operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please call **305.234.2121** for more information.
The public is not permitted in the building except for Police Department matters. For assistance, please press the intercom button on the left of the door or call **305.234.2100**. We are committed to providing excellent service while keeping our community safe.
The Village is adhering to all measures implemented by Miami-Dade County. All businesses that are not exempt are required to close at 11 p.m. Food service establishments that remain open will only provide take-out, delivery, and drive-thru services. Bars and nightclubs will be closed for the next 30 days.
We are doing everything on our end to increase public safety, but ask that individuals follow [CDC guidelines](https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) and act responsibly.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Department continues to operate as usual with extra safety protocols in place.
The 911 Center implemented a new dispatch protocol provided by Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue that asks additional questions to assess a caller’s health. This information is then communicated to the responding officer for additional safety. Officers have respirator masks and individual bottles of hand sanitizer - in addition to their regular gear that includes gloves.

BUILDING AND PLANNING

There is a moratorium on new construction projects until March 29. The Building and Planning office is closed to the public for the safety of our community. We will continue to process permits via a drop-off and pick-up system located outside of the Municipal Center. All payments must be made online. Please call **305.234.2121** for additional information.

The Pinecrest Community Center and gym are closed until further notice. All memberships will be extended based on the duration of the closure. Member updates will be provided via Community Pass. Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date, specifically your email address, and that your notifications are on. All classes, programs, league play and organized sports are cancelled.
Elia Pinecrest- https://eliapinecrest.com/ is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for curbside pick-up and delivery. The entrance for the restaurant is located by the playground. Please call **305.639.8286** for more information.
