**All Spring 2021 testing information is posted on our main website:
  • Go to palmettopanthers.org
  • Click on "Important Testing Information."
  • Scroll down and click on "CLICK HERE TO VIEW YOUR SCHEDULE."
  • Write student ID and click on lookup and you should see student testing schedule for all tests for April and May.
  • Any changes that I made to schedule after posting will not be updated in the website. Those students/parents were given the updated information via email for their records.
Makeups schedules will be sent to subject teacher and I will try my very best to post online. Makeup dates can only be determined after each round of subject testing. I cannot give you a date/time until I determine the number of students who will need to be rescheduled. Makeups will be a last minute schedule. Please be patient and considerate on the amount of students not coming to test on the first call and the makeup days will extend to the first week of June- most likely.

M-DCPS Summer Intern Program:
M-DCPS Looking to Pair High School Interns with Businesses for
5th Annual Summer Youth Internship Program
Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and the Foundation for New Education Initiatives are collaborating with Miami-Dade County and The Children’s Trust to operate the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP). This initiative provides 10th-12th grade M-DCPS students with valuable internships.
Last summer’s internship program adapted its procedures due to COVID-19. This year’s program will be held in-person, (following health guidelines) remotely and through a hybrid model.
High school students must complete 150 internship hours during the five-week period of July 1 – August 5, 2021, with registered businesses and organizations throughout the county. This initiative will provide youth with meaningful educational knowledge, work experience and training opportunities. Along with receiving stipends, paid for by the sponsoring organizations, program participants also will earn high school credit and may earn dual enrollment credit through Miami Dade College.
  • Eligible students must meet the following requirements:
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S. and a resident of Miami-Dade County
  • Be currently enrolled in a M-DCPS high school
  • Open an account with EdFed - The Educational Federal Credit Union
  • Complete the online pre-internship course, submit ALL documents, and register for the internship hiring process through miami.getmyinterns.org
  • Priority will be given to at-risk students who meet one of the following criteria: enrolled in free/reduced-price lunch; are English Language Learners (ELL) or are truant with 15 or more unexcused absences.
CareerSource South Florida, The Children’s Trust, Miami-Dade County, and EdFed - The Educational Federal Credit Union are key sponsoring organizations for this initiative. To register a business or organization as an internship provider, visit miami.getmyinterns.org.

2-  tutoring.mdpls.org
Tutoring.com is normally a paid service through The Princeton Review, but is free for students with a library card (easy to get- see below).
“Experts help you with homework, study for tests and write essays from noon to midnight daily.” The student can have typing or voice chat. They can request a specific tutor that they have worked with before or take a random tutor. The entire interaction is recorded and the student can put the transcript into a personal virtual locker. They can email it to their teacher or refer to it in the future.
Other Notes:
If a student doesn’t have a library card, they can get one almost instantly at https://www1.mdpls.org/webservices/ecard/Account/Register.

If they have any issues with logging on to any of the resources, [email protected] can resolve problems from M-Th 9am-8pm, Fri & Sat 9am-6pm.

Public libraries are open for students to study in, with safety measures in place. They also have computer access. For locations and hours: https://www1.mdpls.org/webservices/locator/

GET YOUR PALMETTO SPIRIT WEAR:
The Miami Palmetto Senior’s PTSA school store is operated by Sharingwear.org, a charitable organization founded and operated by Nicole Markus, a Palmetto High senior. Sharingwear’s Palmetto Senior Online Store is the sole PTSA/school source to buy dress code shirts for Palmetto Senior as the Palmetto Senior PTSA does not operate a physical store at school. All clothing featured on Sharingwear’s Palmetto Senior Online Store are approved by Miami Palmetto Senior High as qualified dress code attire.
Designs can be purchased in multiple clothing styles (tshirts, sweatshirts, etc.) and some designs are available in multiple colors. Orders are custom printed and take 2-3 weeks for delivery. Several great new designs have been added.
All profits from Sharingwear’s Palmetto Senior Online Store are shared 50% with the Palmetto Senior PTSA and 50% with Sharingwear’s Charity of the Month.
Please visit SharingWear.org to stock up on clothes for next year!
