MINISTRY POST BY CJ RICE, YOUTH MINISTER

Church Family,

We have had an incredible last couple of months coming together in various ways as one church! Our summer was filled with opportunities for youth, children, and families to participate in community through camp, mission trips, Bible studies, and more. Our fall kicked off with a Back to School Bash and the Fresh Start Fair. We just hosted the Bishop’s Rally where many of you came out to welcome confirmands from around the Conference. There was great energy around those days of being together as one united community!

I wrote last year after Trunk or Treat about the joy that you would see on people’s faces and in their conversations at every turn of the corner, and I can confidently say that joy has continued throughout the last 12 months of our church getting its groove back! There is so much beauty in our human connection through the grace and love of Jesus, and there are many ways to experience this at First United Methodist Church McKinney.

We have one of these opportunities right around the corner - Trunk or Treat is coming back on October 30th from 5-6:30 p.m. YOU are invited to come be a part of this awesome community gathering! We need people to host trunks, welcome people, pass out candy, and MORE! We also need individually wrapped candy donated. If you would like to host & decorate a trunk, you can sign up HERE. If you would like to help out being a greeter or pass candy out, email CJ Rice.

This is a community event, so please spread the word! Invite friends, family, and neighbors to see what awesome things are happening at our church. They're in for a treat!

TRUNK OR TREAT 2022

Join us on Sunday, October 30th at 5:00-6:30 pm for this fun and exciting event. We will begin setting up and decorating cars at 4:00 pm to get ready for the children to come at 5:00. We are asking each volunteer to decorate the trunk of your vehicle with a fun theme (and possibly wear a costume to go with your theme), provide 3 bags of candy for your station, and stay to pass out candy to the children of our church and community. We will have people coming around with extra candy if/when you run out. There will be PRIZES... Most Creative Trunk, Most Creative Way to Deliver Candy, Best Costumes, etc. Let us know what theme your trunk will be, and how many parking spots you will need (in case you want to spread out your set-up). We hope you will join us for this fun event. GET CREATIVE and Have Fun!!
