Eco Eternity Forest

While Pocono Plateau's core operations center around camp and retreat ministry, we also offer a unique opportunity for people seeking a final resting place for themselves or loved ones.

Nestled on our 750 acres of northern hardwood forest, the Eco Eternity Forest is an environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional burials. This simple, cost-effective option is perfect for the nature lover or someone who desires eternal rest in a beautiful, serene landscape.

We welcome discussions with individuals looking to plan ahead and provide peace of mind for family members at a time when they need it most.

Grace and peace,

Carmen O'Shea

Director, Pocono Plateau Camp & Retreat Center

Frequently Asked Questions:

How does interment into the Eco Eternity Forest work?

Cremains are placed in a biodegradable urn and buried at the base of a selected tree. This process allows remaining nutrients to be absorbed by the tree roots, in essence, becoming a living memorial. Families are welcome to schedule their own private interment service, or our staff can provide assistance if desired.

How do I select a tree?

There are two types of trees available in the Eco Eternity Forecast: Red Maple and Black Cherry. Each available tree was selected by an arborist based on its health, location, and maturity. Trees vary in size and location. Schedule a guided tour of the forest today. If you are not within driving distance from Pocono Plateau, we can send tree photos for review online.

What happens if a tree falls or becomes damaged?

Tree plots are leased for a period of 100 years. If a reserved tree dies before any interments, another tree can be selected. If a tree dies with interments, a tree sapling will be planted nearby.

Can I have my pets interred in the forest?

Your may purchase a plot for your pets or the pet's cremated remains may be combined with their loved one during their interment at no additional charge.
