Brewers Introduce Johnsonville Owners as New Members of Ownership Team

MLB — The Milwaukee Brewers today announced Ralph and Shelly Stayer, owners of Johnsonville, LLC, the country’s most popular brand of sausage, have purchased a minority stake in the MLB franchise.

As Wisconsin natives, lifelong baseball enthusiasts, and longtime sponsors of the Brewers, Ralph and Shelly are a natural fit to join the organization’s ownership team, according to Brewers Chairman and Principal Owner Mark Attanasio.

“The Stayers’ relationship with the Milwaukee Brewers spans many years,” said Attanasio. “Whether it’s cheering on the Brew Crew as season ticket holders, sponsoring the team and its legendary Racing Sausages, offering their excellent Johnsonville sausage products to fans at American Family Field, or joining our efforts to give back to community causes, Ralph and Shelly are integrated into nearly every part of the Brewers family. We’re thrilled to welcome them to our ownership team, as well.”

Z & N Machine is a company located at 3411 S. 32nd Street in Sheboygan. They specialize in manufacturing and assembling machine components, building prototypes, and custom machinery. Their services include fabrication, welding, painting, general assembly, hydraulic and electrical work, and more. At Least 2,000 Homes Planned for Far Southside Sheboygan Development

WHBL The City of Sheboygan’s Finance and Personnel Committee has given a first nod of approval to a proposed development that should make a big dent in the ongoing housing shortage in the City.

Approval of the pre-development agreement with Reedsburg-based Pelton Builders aims to develop 274 acres the City acquired and annexed east of Moenning Road in the Town of Wilson last year, and incorporates an adjacent 73 acres previously purchased by the City.

The agreement, which still requires full Common Council approval, would secure an exclusive partnership with Pelton Builders, with the final project to become a self-sustaining neighborhood of 2,000 mixed-income units where people can find pretty much everything they need from small-scale retail stores within the site.  The deal would be in effect until December 31st next year.  By that time the City expects to receive final plans that will then go before the Common Council for approval.

Sheboygan Receives $200,000 from Feds for Complete Streets Program

WHBL — Bicycle lanes, bump-outs and roundabouts are likely to become more common around Sheboygan with a recent initiative passed by the Common Council, and now a boost from the Federal Government.

US Senator Tammy Baldwin on Monday announced that Sheboygan is one of eight Wisconsin communities that will share a total of over $11 million from the Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.  Known as SS4A, the program aims to fund initiatives that prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries.

Sheboygan’s $200,000 award will be used to develop a comprehensive safety action plan, known as a “Complete Streets” policy, one that was authorized at the December 4th Common Council meeting.  Mayor Ryan Sorenson pointed to the recent Indiana Avenue project as an example of what people can expect.
