International Economic Development Council Awards

Mirella Tamayo, Assistant Director of Economic Development and Adriana Acosta, Lead Multimedia Coordinator proudly represented the City of El Paso’s Economic & International Development Department at the 2024 International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference. They brought home the Economic Excellence Gold Award for Recovery, Resiliency and Mitigation, a recognition of the department's dedication and the city’s innovative efforts to support local businesses through the award-winning Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) program.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to IEDC for this prestigious recognition. It is an incredible honor to be acknowledged on the international stage and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to represent the City of El Paso.

Governor's Small Business Summit

We had an amazing experience at the Governor's Small Business Summit.

The event was filled with crucial discussions on topics such as Tech Tactics in the Digital Economy, The Talent Pipeline: Recruiting, Training, and Retaining Employees, and Adulting 101. Co-hosting this event alongside the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was truly an honor.

Exciting New Tenant at the Innovation Factory

We are thrilled to welcome PM Technologies LLC to the Innovation Factory! As a leader in digital engineering and advanced manufacturing, their arrival in El Paso will provide substantial benefits to the local community.

They are growing their workforce and partnering with organizations like Tigua Inc. to establish the El Paso Manufacturing Consortium, which will supply products to regional defense and aerospace companies.

Additionally, PM Technologies is collaborating with UTEP to commercialize autonomous drone technology and has secured funding for pioneering laser-based metal printing innovations.

Their presence bolsters El Paso's position in the aerospace and defense sectors, fueling local growth and innovation.
