The City’s Economic Development team joined The Accelerator Bridge Binational Supplier Development Program in Juarez as a proud sponsor for its 9th Cohort graduating class. We saw incredible pitches from companies in manufacturing, logistics, business services, and more, all competing for a $10,000 prize! Congratulations to New Discovery Agency, the deserving winner!
The event included valuable 1:1 mentorship sessions providing expert guidance to businesses. As Mayte Rodriguez, Program Manager, said, “The Bridge is Bridging.”

The El Paso Chamber proudly hosted students from around the globe attending the NCOLCoE Class of 2024-2025 International Program at Fort Bliss. As the City of El Paso Economic Development Department, we were thrilled to be a part of this enriching event.
During their visit, the Chamber introduced students to a wide array of civic and philanthropic concepts and programs, showcasing the vibrant intersection of governance, commerce, and community life in the U.S. Events like these are crucial for economic development in our region, fostering unique cross-cultural exchanges and offering invaluable insights into American civic engagement and the philanthropic spirit driving local initiatives. Through this experience, students gained a deeper understanding of how diverse communities come together to build a thriving society.
We were honored to participate alongside partners such as Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, Louis Salazar with the El Paso Council for International Visitors, Dania Bandas with Visit El Paso, Ozzy the El Paso Locomotive FC Mascot, and Chico the Mascot with the El Paso Chihuahuas. Special thanks to El Paso Electric Company for providing the meeting space.

Every year, Workforce Solutions Borderplex (WSB) publishes a list of target occupations for the Borderplex region, giving us a closer look at living wages, job openings, and industry growth, along with other economic indicators.
The region’s update is essential because it provides data that helps us understand our current standing as a city, how we compete with the rest of Texas, and where we can assist job seekers and employers. This understanding helps us identify how we can collectively advance our economy.
Workforce Solutions Borderplex is a valuable resource for employers and jobseekers. They work with businesses and individuals to invest in training and skills development, strengthen the local workforce, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
WSB's report highlights occupations that experience 10% or more growth over ten years, 20+ or more annual job openings, and jobs in demand with top wages at or above $17.24 per hour.
As a community, we work closely together and share recent data to help us all make improvements and drive economic growth in the Borderplex region.
